Justin’s POV
“Happy anniversary, babe.” Madelyn was smiling when I woke up the next morning, the morning of our anniversary.
“Why are you so smiley?” I laughed. I hadn’t seen her genuinely smile in forever. It was a nice surprise to wake up to a happy Madelyn.
“I’m just happy. Today is going to be a great day.”
“Careful. Don’t put your expectations too high on our day. I wouldn’t want to disappoint you.”
“You could never disappoint me. Just being with you today is enough. Anything more than that is a bonus.”
Madelyn’s POV
I had no idea what Justin was planning, and I had no idea when to expect it. We had a lazy morning, with breakfast in bed and then a movie. It wasn’t until two that afternoon he started acting like he actually had something planned for us.
“Alright, I think you have an appointment downstairs.”
“Do I have to get dressed?” I was still in leggings and one of Justin’s t-shirts.
“Nope. Just go downstairs like that.”
“And where are you going?”
“I just have a few last minute things to do before tonight. I’ll see you later.”
Justin put me on the elevator and waved goodbye to me as the doors shut. As soon as I got to the lobby, a lady from the spa was waiting for me.
“Mrs. Bieber, right this way.” She led me into the spa and into a changing room with a robe and slippers. I hated to admit it, but I loved to be pampered. Though, I couldn’t believe Justin had left my side. He’d been set on spending time together. But, I didn’t mind. I had gotten no alone time in recent weeks, so this was going to be great.
Justin’s POV
I didn’t really have a whole lot to do to get ready for the night. I had everything planned out. I had hired people to set things up, so I could stay with Madelyn for a while. So when I realized I had nothing to do, I called Alexis to go to lunch with me.
“Hey Lex. You’re looking beautiful, as always.” I greeted her at a restaurant near her apartment.
“No Madelyn today?” She looked around.
“Nope. She’s in the Four Seasons’ spa being pampered before our big night out.”
“That’s still happening? I take it she’s doing better then?”
“I think so. It’s always kind of hard to tell with her, since she tries to be so strong. But I really think she’s better. She’s at least making an effort.”
“She is strong, Justin. She’ll be fine. She’ll fight through this and go right back to being the wife you love.”
“I can only hope.”
Madelyn’s POV
I was in the spa until five. Justin had booked nearly every spa treatment they had. I started with a shiatsu massage and facial, followed by a full-body scrub and wrap. After my body was all massaged and such, my hands and feet were next. A French manicure and pedicure completed my spa visit, or so I thought.
