Error's POV

"I don't pay attention to anything in this damn place," I mumbled, propping my head up with my elbow. Still, I couldn't stop looking at the strange student standing there. He was interesting, for sure, and I could have sworn I had felt...

...like I could care less.
I mean, it's just a new kid. Why Fell is fussing over him just seems like overreacting.
Before I could say any more, we heard Mrs. Alphys speak up.
"S-sorry for the h-h-holdup, class. W-we have a n-new student here today. His n-name is Ink. Ink, w-would you like to i-introduce yourself?"
Ink nodded and smiled, as Mrs. Alphys sat down. I looked towards the front with a bored expression, but kept my attention towards him.
"Hello everyone. I'm Ink, and I'm new here!... B-but you, u-um... already knew that..."
He looked down in embarrassment.
There were a few chuckles, but I just rolled my eyes. This kid stuttered just as much as Mrs. Alphys!
But Mrs. Alphys just smiled. "T-that's okay, Ink. T-tell us about yourself!" She said, trying to boost her confidence.
It worked, and he smiled back.
"O-oh! Yes, well... I like to draw, my old friends used to call me the god of creation, and I didn't really know why..."
Ooookay, this was getting boring. I accidentally made eye contact with the boy, but I quickly looked away. I may not have felt it, but apparently my cheeks had lit up, because Fell leaned over and elbowed me in the ribs. "Who's the lover boy now, smartass?"
That comment got him a good punch in the arm as I buried my burning face in my hoodie and put my head down.

Ink's POV

Being the new kid is hard. But it's easy at the same time.
It's easy because I don't really have to do anything- I was late into the classroom because of registration. It's hard because you don't know what people will think of you. I spent a really long time preparing for my first day, but I was mainly focusing about dismissing the nerves I had. What if people don't like me? I thought to myself. What if I mess up? Will people hate me if I don't say what they want to hear?
I shook my head and cleared the unsettling thoughts. It's going to be just fine, I thought. Just be yourself.
I met Mrs. Alphys in the classroom after my registration.
"H-here, your schedule..." she said, handing me a small paper. After looking through it, I looked up at the class in front of me.
Mrs. Alphys then spoke to the rest of the class.
"S-sorry for the h-h-holdup, class. W-we have a n-new student here today. His n-name is Ink. Ink, w-would you like to i-introduce yourself?" She looked at me. I nodded. This was my chance!
"Hello everyone." I said cheerfully. "I'm Ink, and I'm new here!" I stopped, panic-stricken. "B-but you, u-um... already knew that..."
Oh no! I heard snickers around the room. Crap! There goes my chance to be normal.
But Mrs. Alphys helped me out, and smiled. "T-that's okay, Ink. T-tell us about yourself!" My eyes widened. "O-oh! Yes, well... I like to draw, my old friends used to call me the god of creation, and I didn't really know why... I mean, they did think I was the best artist out of all of them... I was homeschooled for a while, but two of my closest friends are actually here now. Hi Blue! Hi Dream!" I waved in my friends' directions, and they too, smiled and waved back.
One boy caught my eye, out of all of them. He had a black skull instead of white, he was glitching slightly, and he had blue lines coming from his eyes, like tear tracks. His eyes were strange- one eye was small and yellow with a white pupil, and the other was blue with a black pupil and a yellow ring around it. It was... strikingly different. I liked it. I watched as his conversation with his friend went from laughter to an elbow in the ribs to more laughter. We accidentally made eye contact- to which he immediately looked away. I saw his friend lean towards him again, where the strange boy then punched him in the arm, pulled the hood over his head, and put his head down. I couldn't make out what they were saying, but I couldn't help but stifle a laugh.
"A-alright, class!" Mrs. Alphys said suddenly, trying to calm the class down. "Ink, if you w-would like to, th-there is an empty s-seat next to Error. W-why don't you go sit down?"
