Fell's POV
Blue, Dream and I were walking down the street towards the old warehouse down the road, ready to meet Error there. But it was empty. No sound, no nothing. After all, it was abandoned. No one ever came in here. But that was why it was such a good meeting place. It was against the rules, sure, but who would go look there and say, 'hey, you're not supposed to be there!' If it was abandoned? That's the whole point. It was a raggedy old place, but it hadn't collapsed, so it was ideal.
But it was still empty.
"Well, that's great. Error's not here!" I said in frustration.
"Ink just texted me. Apparently his phone had died and is now recharging it. He went to the store." Blue said, pointing at his phone.
"Oh, well that's great too, now Ink's back and Error's missing!" I said, annoyed. "Whatever. I'm sure he'll show up eventually. Let's go home."
Error's POV
I awoke in a cold dark room, tied to a chair. As my memories flooded back to me from the previous few hours, the more pain I felt in my chest.
Ink!
Was he alright?
I tried creating a mirror, an anti-void trick I used to to spy on other people(don't ask).
It was to no avail.
"Your powers won't work. You might as well stop trying."
I snapped my neck up to see Swapfell slinking into the room. He had a devilish smile on his face. I struggled with the ropes tied to my wrists, moving the chair violently towards him.
"You bastard! What have you done with Ink?!"
He did not flinch. In fact, he looked bored.
"Calm down, glitch face, Ink is fine. But he has no idea that you're missing." He smiled again. "You see, Ink was never in danger. He wasn't even missing to begin with. He had gone to the store to get food. I took advantage of that and caught you right in my trap. Now I will make you disappear from his mind and replace you with me!"
"So that's it? You're jealous of me? How stupid."
"You trash-talking little brat! You have no idea what I'm capable of!"
"You're barely taller than me, and I'm sitting down."
"Why you little-"
"Calm yourself, Swapfell."
Horror now stood in the doorway, looking right at Swapfell as he turned to face him. He walked straight up to me and studied me closely.
I struggled and pulled the chair around while trying to intimidate him best I could.
"You little shit! What do you think you're doing?"
He continued to look at me. "Powers disabled?"
"Yes."
"If I weren't tied to this god damn chair, I'd snap your neck!"
"He's no fun like this," Horror concluded with boredom in his voice.
"No fun? Ha, yeah, you wanna talk about no fun? You're about to have a bad time, budd-"
I saw him spin his ax around and hit me in the head with the butt. And as my sight faded to black once again, all I could do was hope that the others were okay.
Error...
Error...
Wake up, Error...
WAKE UP!
I'm up, I'm up, jeez!
My eyes jolted open. I was awake.
It felt as though time hadn't passed at all.
But it must have, I thought to myself. I closed my eyes and felt power I hadn't the last time I was awake. I have my powers back.
...
I have my powers back!
I have find out if the others are okay.
Is it daytime? Or nighttime? I would guess night, but this room is dark 24/7. I can't tell.
I couldn't move, but I could spy.
What looked like a large portal suddenly appeared in front of me. Inside it, three sleeping skeletons lied in their beds, sleeping soundly. I breathed a sigh of relief and broke into a large smile. Nothing looked wrong. They were safe.
Man, mirror is so helpful!
But the image faded at the sound of voices of Horror and Swapfell coming down the corridor.
I fell limp quickly and pretended to be asleep, so I could listen in on their conversation.
"It's been a whole week!" I heard Swapfell say. "Error still hasn't woken up- is he dead?"
No, no. He's not dead." Horror replied. "I couldn't kill him. Not yet."
"But why shouldn't we just kill him now?" Swapfell responded argumentatively. "He'll still be in the way!"
"Oh he won't be," Horror said in a suspenseful manner. "I've got a brilliant plan that will ruin his life, and Ink's. Only after this, will Ink truly love you."
Don't listen to him! I wanted to scream. I may hate you, but you should never trust Horror in a million years! He's more bad news than you might ever be!
There was whispering, then I heard a giant screech, apparently from Swapfell.
"You're going to break him?!"
I heard shushing from Horror.
"Yes!" He hissed angrily. "Now keep it down! Think about it..."
I felt myself lean in as if gravity was set on the two skeletons in the hallway.
"We'll ruin his head. He's very powerful, more powerful than both of us combined, even. If he's not good enough dead to us, why don't we let him do the work for us? His emotions seem already unstable, and I bet that if we could break him, he'd do more damage than we could ever do."
Are they... talking about... me? But what-
I suddenly heard footsteps, growing louder. I fell limp once again as I felt their eyes bore into me like knives.
"When he wakes up, make sure to inform me," I heard Horror say in his dry tone.
"We have some work to do."
