Happy belated birthday Yusee @yusrahfari I pray you excel in all your affairs and be a bright light to the ummah. I dedicate this whole page to you and Aunty Harira,  thanks for the encouragement. 😘 😍

I chuckled covering my face with my palm when I heard the door opening, his heavenly scent wafted through my nostrils, I clenched my eyes when his cold hands covered mine, "Shy much are we?" his baritone voice questioned I heard shuffling, "Okay I'm decent enough, you can open your eyes now" I opened them and was surprised to see he was still shirtless, "don't you dare cover your eyes" he warned his voice taking a serious note, my heartbeat picked up, I dropped my hand which was halfway up my face, "Now feed your husband" he muttered a smirk plastered on his face, what is wrong with this guy?. I know he hates me and took my chance coming to his room with this breakfast and all that but I didn't know he'd be this receptive why is he taking it serious?, is he a changed man now or was he just waiting for me to do something wrong so he'll call me off.

My heart was practically in my mouth after I had mixed up the hot cup of coffee clinking the spoon on the cup for what seemed like hours, "I hate irritating sounds you know" I heard his voice say, I dropped the spoon picking the cup with quivering hands, my insides were twisted in nervousness, as I held up the cup to him, he shook his head in denial, "I'm going to be fed from your hands" his eyes held mine in challenge, what was he up to, was this some sort of test or what. I swallowed heavily placing the cup gently on the tray and as slow as I could upheaved on the bed crossing my legs at the ankle and tucking my feet beneath them.

I didn't look up, I could feel his burning gaze on my neck, I heaved heavily and took the cup placing my left hand under it, my right hand tightly holding the handle, I raised it to his lips, my gaze fixed only on his lips .

His mouth was clamped shut, a ghost of a smile tugged the sides of his lips up but it vanished just as it had appeared, I don't know what happened or how quick things happened, I found myself on the floor a sharp sting coursing through my body.

My eyes welled, sweeping across the to where he stood, one hand was tightly clutching his tummy, as he breathed heavily like someone who had ran a marathon "Don't you dare repeat that, what even brought you to my room in the first place, you just keep exhibiting your witchcraft prowess everyday, I don't even know what came over me today, GET OUT!" he yelled his voice resonating through the room, I held my side picking myself up, my lips parted but no words came out what was happening. I looked down to where the broken glass lied.

The day had looked so promising I was sure he'd changed his opinion of me before it ended, what happened did I stab him or pour the tea on him? Ya Allah what's happening to me, why I'm I always at the receiving end of his backlashes, he never missed the chance to tag me a witch.

"Are you deaf?" I looked up again blinking like I was seeing him for the first time, "I said get out" a tremor ran down my spine from the chillness in his voice, I trudged out of the room my hands still clasped on my side.

My heart didn't have the will to shed tears it wasn't broken it sank in pain because it had nothing to hold on to.

I heard the doorbell ring, I stood still wondering who came to visit at this hour, 'you're a bride and you're open to guest every hour of the day' the logical part of my mind reminded. I looked down the flight if stairs wondering how I'll make it down and still maintain normal gait. I felt a pang with every footstep, the bell incessantly rang adding on to my oncoming headache.

I heaved a tired sigh when I got to the foot of the stairs and walked as fast as my body would let me to the door. I twisted the key in the keyhole and turned the knob plastering a smile on my face to welcome the guest.

Mufeedah's hand was halfway to the doorbell when I opened the door, "I was going to start knocking when you opened" she uttered a goofy smile plastered on her face, I rolled my eyes standing aside so she could come in, "Where" my question was cut short when Fareeda entered with Aunty Hauwa in tow, my eyes started twitching, today just wasn't my day, my lips stretched in a strained smile. "Welcome Aunty, good afternoon", "I'm sorry" she whispered into my eye squeezing me in a bone crushing hug. I felt like my insides had been spark ablaze.

I shrieked pushing her little so she could loosen her hold on me "I'm so sorry dear", I blinked back the tears that had welled in my eyes as I pulled away.

"Oh I'm such a bad host" I looked over at Fareedah and Mufeedah who were behind Aunty, "what can I offer you?" I asked settling my eyes Aunty Hauwa, "And who are the guests?" Aunty Hauwa asked quirking an arched eyebrow up.

I trudged to the twins dragging them with me, "Why are you limping?" nosy Mufy asked "ooh, like seriously OMG" she shrieked jumping, "you guys couldn't wait till your honeymoon?, I mean who cares I'm goi-" she stopped mid sentence suddenly becoming sober, I wished the earth could just swallow me up "Aw Aunty" she whined holding her head "I think I'll have to tell Hajia, we need to marry you off fast" she pouted her lips mumbling under her breath, Fareedah was trying so hard to hold her laughter I rolled my eyes at her and continued on to the kitchen, "In fact I think Kassimu is the best candidate" I couldn't hold my laughter when I pictured a young beautiful Mufy with old Mallam Kassimu, whose mouth was filled with red cola nut stained teeth.

I groaned reminded of my sore side which was surely bruised.

A laughing Fareedah joined me followed by Mufy, I stole a glance at her and couldn't help chuckling, though the sides of my tummy was hurting like hell reminding me of the husband who utterly despised me, I couldn't help laughing at Mufeedah's expense.

"Wallah Aunty is a good matchmaker I'll start preparing for this wedding, in fact it's going to be the wedding of the millenni" I uttered smiling widely "or what do you think Fareedah?" I asked winking at Fareeda "of course it is" she replied as trying to stifle her laughter, Mufy burst into tears running out of the room.

I held my stomach as I laughed praying this short lived happiness will help me sail through my hopefully short term trial in shaa Allah.
