Doubts

The next day.

Stephanie's Pov: Tonight we are having dinner with Trish and Ron. Paul has never met Ron before and I think they will get along ,  at least I hope so. It's 5 am and I have to get Paul up and then we have to start getting ready for work. I got up and got Paul up and we got ready for work. Paul made breakfast and we talked about the baby and how we are going to tell our parents. We decided to take one car today since we are both just going to be doing our normal office work. We got in the car and Paul started driving and I said " Oh I forgot to tell you we have dinner with Trish and Ron tonight." Paul said "Tonight?" I said as I looked at him with a stern look on my face,"Yes,  Is there a problem with having dinner with them tonight?"  Paul said "I have a lot of work to do today and I have a dinner tonight with a new partner and Vince really wants to work with them so I can't reschedule." I said "Oh..." Paul said "We can do it tomorrow night?" I said "I have a meeting tomorrow late in the day and you never know how long those can last and I'm suppose to be working with the writers tomorrow , on a new story line so I don't have any matches or anything physical in the ring that could hurt the baby. But I will just go by myself tonight then because we are on the road the rest of the week." Then i siged. Paul said "Maybe we could do lunch instead of dinner either today?" I said "I don't know." I sat there thinking for a minute and then I texted Trisha and said "Hey Paul has this big meeting with a new partner tonight and he can't make it. Can we do lunch today?" I set my phone down and started thinking about everything and how we never have time for anything and I don't know how this is going to work with having a second child. We are a lot older and have a lot more responsibilities. If we can't even find time to have dinner with friends how are we going to raise another child. Then Trish texted me back and said "Sure lunch today sounds great , where do you want to go?" I texted back " Do you remember that place we use to go all the time when we just wanted to escape everything?" Trish immediately texted back and said " Of course that was our favorite spot to go after long boring meetings that neither one of us wanted to be a part of."I texted back "I'm glad you remembered , I'll met you there at like 12:30?" Trish texted back " Sounds like a plan." I set my phone back down and we were not at the office. We both got out of the car and UI said "Lunch with Trisha and Ron at 12:30. "Paul kissed me  then said "I will see you then gorgeous. "and we went in two opposite directions. The first part of the day was filled with boring meetings and then it hit 12:00 and i was finally able to sit down in my office in silence and focus on my work. 

Pauls Pov:  Today has been a pretty easy day so far I haven't had any meetings to go to so far. I'm just waiting on her to call me back and . I hope Steph isn't mad at me for not being able to come to dinner tonight and hopefully she doesn't call back until after lunch because I would feel really bad missing lunch after telling her I was having dinner with a new partner tonight. I checked through some emails and then just sat here waiting it was already 12:20. I get up to go to leave to meet Steph and the phone rings. I pick it up and say "Hey , I have been waiting for you to call." The woman on the phone said " Hello Paul , I think I have found what you have been looking for."

Stephanie's Pov: It's now 12:25 , time to get going to have this lunch date. I get up and leave my office and I start walking down the street toward the restaurant. I see Trish and Ron sitting outside waiting for us. I walk over to the table and hug trish and she introduces me to Ron and we sit down. It is now 12:30 and Paul is not here. We sit there and talk and wait a few minutes and he still doesn't show up. So I pull my phone out and I call him and it goes straight to voicemail. Which is very strange because he always answers when I call even if he is in a meeting and his phone is charged so it's not dead. He must have turned it off. I set my phone down and said "I guess Paul isn't coming his phone went straight to voicemail and it never does when I call. Trish said "That's not like him to not answer. " I said "He cancelled dinner tonight because he has a dinner with a new partner that i have never heard about until he told me this morning and now he just doesn't show up. What is he hiding?" Trish said "Maybe something came up and he had to do something." as she shrugs her shoulders. I said "He would have at least texted me and said something instead of just ghosting me." No one said anything . I said "I really hope he's not cheating on me , at least of all times not now while I am pregnant with his  second child."  Trish said "Paul is not that kind of guy , you and your kids are his world , you guys are all he talks about. I can't imagine him doing something like that." I said " I don't know it seems like he has changed , like he is hiding something. I just don't know what to think anymore. " Trish reaches out and grabs my hand and says"Everything is going to be alright , we are going to get to the bottom of this. " I smiled and said "Thank you." Trish looks at Ron and says "I'm going to go help her figure this out , and I will see you at home later babe. " Trish kisses Ron and grabs my hand and we start walking back to the office.

Paul's Pov: I said "That sounds great , See you soon." Then i hang up the phone and head to the car and leave. I pulled out my phone and turned it off do not disturb and saw that I had a missed call from Steph. I looked at the time and realized it was 1:00 and I was suppose to be a lunch a half an hour ago. I put my phone back on do not disturb and I start driving.

Trish's Pov: Me and Steph are walking back to the office and all I can think of is how can he do this to her , that's not like him , not at all. Something doesn't seem right. We walk into the office and we get into the elevator and go to Vince's office. Steph Knocks on the door.

Stephanie's Pov: Vince said "Come in." I open the door and Trish and I walk in and sit down. I said " Dad I need to talk to you about something." Vince says "Sure honey what is it?" I said " Does Paul have a dinner with a new partner tonight that you really want him to make a deal with?" Vince says "Not that I know of , i haven't seen any knew partners that I was us working with in a while. A lot of them are just sell out companies. " I said "Your sure?" Vince said "Yes , I'm sure why are you asking?" I said "Paul said he an important dinner with a potential partner tonight. And he was suppose to meet us for lunch almost an hour ago and he never showed up. When I tired to call him his phone went straight to voicemail." Vince said " What?" I nodded my head and said "Yea." Vince said "I'm gonna kick lying ass. Is he here?" I said " I don't Know." Vince said "Go see if he is here." I got up and left and went to see if he was in his office , Trish stayed behind with my dad.

Vince's Pov: I said "Trish does she really think that?" Trish nodded and said "Yes she does she says , she feels like he has been hiding something from her." I said "He is." Trish said "What?" Vince said " He's not cheating on her , he is has been working on getting a lot of things together for their anniversary next week." Trish smiled and said "Oh , maybe someone should tell her he's not cheating on her because I tried to and she didn't listen to me." Vince said "I have a plan just got get Steph , Paul isn't here he just left to go pick up the new ring he has designed for her." I picked up the phone fastly and called Linda and said "Hey I don't have much time to talk right now but If Steph asked you about Paul having a dinner tonight with a partner just say you sent him and you didn't realize you were on my email and not yours and you didn't know they had lunch plans today so you sent him to meet with investors at the last minute. I will explain everything later." Steph walks in the door and I said "Alright Honey , thanks for letting me know , I love you and I will see you at home." Steph said" Who was that?" I said " It was your mother she called to let me know that she sent Paul to meet with some investors at the last minute because her meeting was running late and they were going to be they for a while longer. She also told me that she sent Paul to meet with the partner tonight and that she didn't realize until now that she sent the email off of my email and not hers , that is why he said I sent him." Steph said "Oh that makes sense now. Thanks Dad." She walked out the door. 

Stephanie's Pov: I walked into my office and sat down and took a deep breathe and got back to work , I didn't have much to do today so it was a pretty easy day. By the time i got done it was almost 4:00 so i went over my schedule for tomorrow and cleaned up my office and went to get Paul. I went to his door and tried to Open it and it was locked so I knocked on the door and said "Babe are you ready to go?" Paul said " Yes, just give me a few minutes to clean up and few things."

Paul's Pov: Steph just knocked on the door and I have all the plans for next week out and her ring and her dress. I opened the closet door and stuck everything in there and then shut and locked the door and put the key in drawer underneath some papers. I opened my office door and said "I'm sorry baby , I'm ready now." Steph looks in my office like she is trying to find something. I said "We should get going , I bet your really tired. " Steph nodded and I shut the door and locked it and put the key in my pocket. We walked to the car and we got in and I said " I'm so sorry about earlier , I know I said I was going to come but something came up." Steph said " I know I talked to my dad and he said that my mom's meeting was running longer and that she sent you to meet with the investors." I said " I'll make it up to you , we will have lunch tomorrow." Steph smiled and said "That sounds great , now let's go home I'm starving." 

Stephanie's Pov: We got home and went inside and Paul went straight to the kitchen and made me dinner and then he kissed my forehead and said "I'll be back soon , I love you." I said "I love you too." He walked out the door and left and went to his dinner with the new partner.
