"Merlin? Merlin can you hear me?"
Merlin's eyes struggled to open slowly, everything was a blinding white at first until slowly it dimmed down.
"Merlin!" Gaius screamed happily.
When Merlin had woken up properly, Gaius appeared again still beaming, but his smile seemed to be hiding seriousness in. Merlin prepared himself for the interrogation he was soon to experience.
"Merlin! How are you?"
"Never better - maybe not," Merlin replied
"What happened?"
"I don't know! It was really weird. One minute I'm asleep in a forest and the next I'm here! What did happen?" Merlin lied
"You didn't do it then?" Gaius finally asked.
Merlin ran it through in his head - what if he told Gaius? Maybe he'd be more understood? No, he'd be thought as mad! The King certainly wouldn't want a mad servant!
"No! Why - I mean - I got my destiny and all that!" He laughed, but his laugh felt fake and wrong. He shouldn't be laughing.
