I got out of the car with the help of my driver and I took in the place I used to call home.
Nothing had changed. It was still the place where I grew up, where I had a rough ass childhood but the place I still called home in a way.
As usual when I walked pass our servants they bowed and I greeted them back. They were really happy that I was back home, I mean the last time I was here was a year ago.
I walked straight to the throne room where my family was sitting waiting for my presence.
"Mother, father." i greet as i bowed my head as a sign of respect.
"Sweetheart. You've decided to come back home. Why? Is everything okay?" asked my dad while his wife just nodded her head when I greeted.
"Yes father, all is well. I just came for a visit. I missed you dearly." i said making sure i looked at everyone in room besides for 'mother.'
I then looked over to my little brother and sister. "Well look at that. You guys finally have a sit in the throne room. Looks like you're leveling up." I said smiling brightly at them.
"We were forced to be here. You know if it were up to us we wouldn't be here, we have dresses and tiaras to wear." said my sister while laughing but stopped laughing when she took a quick look at her mother.
"Come on guys this isn't neces-" I was actually walking over to my own chair when I noticed it was gone. "Wow. I guess you couldn't wait to get rid of me huh?" i said a little crushed.
I mean i know I've always wanted to leave the castle for the longest time, but i didn't know that meant erasing my existence.
"What are you-" Lisa stopped talking when she finally caught up. "Oh honey no it's not like that. You just can't use that chair anymore."
"Why not?"
"Your coronation is coming up and we want your new chair to be ready by then. Your highness." she said the last part sounding bitter. I had to refrain from not rolling my eyes.
Your ass completely forgot about about the coronation. My sassy inner consciousness reminds me.
"Of course, but we'll talk more about that. But for now, I'd love to spend some time with my siblings."
"Very well. We have duties to take care of anyway. Do bid us before your departure Princess." my father said sounding so royal like.
After they left, we headed out to the garden where we were served something to nibble on while we caught up.
"Oh my word Amy! We have missed you so much!" Brittany exclaimed as we sat down.
I laughed. "Oh, we're using our second names now?" i asked since no one has ever called me by my middle name before.
"I'm kidding. But you never use that name. What's the other one you have again?" she said taking a piece of the moist carrot cake into her mouth.
I giggled. "Simphiwe, but Caroline is fine with me." then I focused my attention to the reason I was here. "What about you Kev? Are you okay?"
"I'm okay. You know me, I don't say a lot." he said just looking at the treats on the table.
"You guys have really grown a lot, my word." they look at each other then laugh.
"No stop." says Kev.
"You sound like those middle aged widowers who haven't seen their grandchildren in centuries." says Brit.
Wow. These kids... But i laugh as well.
I continue. "I'm not just here for a friendly visit though. What's really been happening?"
"Uhm well it's okay I guess." started Brittany while she and Kevin gave each other looks.
I could tell they were shy to answer me so I read their minds to try and find out what was going on. Kev was shy to talk to me in front of Brit and Brittany and I have never had a one on one before, so this was awkward for her.
"Come on Kev you go first." i encouraged him.
"Oh...uhm..." he said skretching the back his head.
"Come on." i say but he was still hesitant.
"Okay let me tell you guys something. You know why I'm so mean?" i ask.
"No." they said in unison.
"Because when people look at me they see a pretty face. A girl that has it all. That's why I was often bullied at school, because they were jealous of me, because they thought I was the perfect girl. When I was bullied I couldn't run to my brother or sister, I had to take it and stand up for myself. The worst part was that I couldn't fight back because then the humans would know I was different. I had to teach myself how to 'contain', to be the opposite of what I was bred to do. You guys are at an advantage then I was, you go to an all supernatural school! I want you to know how to kick ass. I mean, we're Parkers for God's sake! Do you know what that means?" I asked my now focused siblings and they were eager to know the answer.
"Our name carries so much power that people are even scared to look our direction. We separate heads from necks, turn the most powerful people into weak little pathetic beings or if we're feeling boujee, just snap their little twigs they call arms. You know there's a difference between respect and fear right? And when you look at our servants, do you think they respect or are scared of mom and dad?"
"Uhm...they respect them?"
"Wrong. They are scared. Scared for their lives and families lives. See brother and sister we are known for simply killing if im putting it nicely."
"That's not true!" Brittany said.
"Oh go on. Play the sweet innocent princess card. But it's time to wake up baby girl. That's why mom uses you, I mean you can't even speak up for yourself because you're always turning a blind eye to stuff, stuff you know is happening. Can't you see?! She's living her life through you. I doubt you even like ballet but here you are going to thee most expensive classes. So tell me when are planning on developing a back bone?"
"Come on Caroline that's too harsh." Said Kevin stepping up for his sister.
Mission accomplished.
That was the whole point of the conversation, for them to learn to look after each other and do what ever It takes to make sure they are okay. No matter what, no matter the cost, by all means necessary. That's also something my dad engraved in our minds.
"And you...you enjoy being beat up don't you? You know what I would have done if I went to a all supernatural school? I would have shuttered a lot of knee caps. I'm a Parker, my father wouldn't be surprised. In fact he would be disappointed if he's never been called at school at least 26 times.
Look guys I didn't mean to be this hard on you but it's time you knew who you were. What I'm trying to say here is that you're lucky that you guys have each other to take care of while I had no one, so you guys should let each other know what's going on so that you can go through this together. And also, you guys aren't kids anymore, it's time to live up to your name.
And trust me..." I said while getting on my feet "...mercy is only for family." and with that I super sped out.
