The next day, i set my alarm to wake me up early in the morning to prepare for today's events. I had to cancel my classes with my personal instructor and prepare Brittany for school while Kevin prepared for his Karate lessons.

The weather was a bit off and i feared because i was a different breed of vampire.

I was a Hawish Vampire. Which meant that i would be in the sun but not the cold because if i get cold enough, my heart freezes over and only a selected group of Vampires can revive me back to life. I know what you're thinking, yes, like the movie frozen.

I made sure i had on a good layer of warm clothes over me. I then went into Brittany's room to make sure she was ready.

I softly knocked before entering her room. "Ready?" i asked peeping my head into her equally huge bedroom as mine.

"Almost." she replies frantically packing different books and stationary into a bag. She quickly grabs it and heads out the door.

"Grab a jacket, its a bit cold outside." i say when i notice she doesnt have anything warm on.

She chuckles, letting her one dimple show. "Judging by how you're dressed, i need my whole winter wardrobe."

I smile rolling my eyes.

Kevin and Brittany weren't hawkish vampires. So they could walk in the sun, but not for too long because their skin starts to hurt, as if one thousand tiny needles are going in and out of their bodies. And the cold really wasn't a big deal to them.

"Okay im ready sis." she announces as she puts on her other arm sleeve into her clearly expensive and warm jacket.

"Okay let's go, car is waiting outside already."

We quickly pass by the kitchen and we grab a fresh fruit and decide we would do lunch when she is done covering her 4 hours at school.

We sit in the car in silence as our driver takes us to her school.

"Caroline..." she starts.

"Hmm?" i direct my attention away from the window and look down at her.

"Im sorry."

"For what?" i ask confused.

"For mom hating you. Sometimes i would pretend not to be so smart so that she could at least give me a break and focus on you guys, but instead she says the most hurtful things to me and i just..." i see tears start to form in her eyes. "I just avoid all of that so I have no choice but to make sure my grades meet her standard."

I understood what she is trying to say but i just had to laugh. "This is the first time im hearing someone apologise for their intelligence. Sweety, its okay. Its not your fault. Mom just sees herself in you and wants you to do well in everything you do, things she didn't get a chance to do, she wants you to exploit every opportunity out there." i say.

Yes Lisa sucked at being a parent and obviously Brittany could see that, but i didn't want to confirm her thoughts by bad mouthing her mother. There was no need for me to make her hate her own mother. Family comes first.

She then smiled up at me and gave me a hug before she got out of the car. I looked at the time and i figured i would go crazy if i stayed in the car for 4 hours, so i decided to take a walk.

I then saw a bench near the school field and went to sit there. I sat there looking out at the field just letting my thoughts wonder. The cold breeze felt relaxing, but as soon as it got too cold for me, i would go back to the car.

My thoughts were interrupted by a scent i knew very well but was weird for me to pick it up here.

The scent of a werewolf.
