daeun's friends hyojin, sara, and leeyu had decided to drag her to their favorite club, nova.
she had been plenty of times, but she never really enjoyed the atmosphere of clubbing. she liked the way she could feel the bass through her whole body. she liked the fact that she could drink with her friends. however, she did not like the amount of bodies squeezed into one area.
of course, she never told her friends this because daeun already felt like a weight holding them back.
she was sitting at one of the booths: one leeyu had snagged from having a fling with a security guard. she was only on her second shot of vodka, choosing to go light tonight in case any of her friends did anything stupid.
she looked around. hyojin was chatting it up with a bartender, trying to get a bottle of some liquor for free. sara was dancing in the middle of the room unaware of the amount of eyes trained on her. leeyu was sitting next to her, a recent breakup making her down bottle after bottle but refuse to be left alone; or rather leave daeun alone.
as she looked away from the scenery around her, leeyu's eyes grew wide.
"unnie, what's wrong? did you see gunmin?"
her lips were moving too fast to read, so daeun focused on her hands.
"there's an extremely attractive guy walking towards you."
daeun's head turned around in curiosity and as soon as she did, she made eye contact with soonyoung, her cute neighbor.
he was halfway across the room, getting closer to her every second. frankly, he looked drunk so daeun waved him off, thinking he was heading to the bar to get more whiskey.
imagine the surprise on her face when the next time she looked away from her drink, kwon soonyoung was inches away from her face.
after some garbled phrases and daeun explaining his illegible speech, soonyoung had successfully asked daeun to dance.
they were having the time of their lives. daeun could tell soonyoung was a dancer even though he was hardly moving. something about his feel of the rhythm and the fluidity of his movements clued her in. she dearly wished she could hear the lyrics, the entire musical composition of the song playing so she could properly dance with such an intriguing man.
just as she was wishing for a time that she wasn't hard of hearing, soonyoung began stumbling. the amount of alcohol he had consumed was hitting him again. he slumped against her, his larger frame weighing her smaller one down.
out of the corner of her eye she saw a slightly older and a younger male stand up from the direction soonyoung had come from.
she slung soonyoung's arm over her shoulders and told the two males she could take him home. the older one seemed to recognize her and simply smiled at daeun as she left with his friend.
after they had made it to the apartment complex, daeun slumped soonyoung against the wall as she reached for the spare key above the door. he wasn't exactly inconspicuous about that and she had to stand on her toes to even barely touch the key bow. she helped him onto his bed and quickly left, feeling as if she was invading his privacy.
laying on her bed, daeun's heart felt like it was going to leap from her chest, a feeling she would experience long into the night.
