"wait so let me get this straight. you started rambling on and on the second this girl opened the door and she just let you even though she couldn't see half the stuff you were saying 'cause she's deaf?" soonyoung nodded to jeonghan's inquisition, his friend busting out laughing after the confirmation.

"dude that's hilarious. she totally messed with you! at least she has a sense of humor."

"hyung stop! i'm already embarrassed enough!" soonyoung sat next to jeonghan on the bed, holding his head in his hands.

"i totally made a fool of myself in front of literally the most gorgeous person i've ever seen."

"yeah you definitely did. well, even though you failed to complete my little mission for you, you managed to meet a girl! i'll leave you with that small victory since i need to head back to the studio and record some things for jihoon. we're still all meeting up for drinks right?"

soonyoung reassured that he'd be there for drinks before showing his incessant friend out. now he was left all alone in the silence of his apartment and mind, the only thing occupying his brain being daeun.

drinks had turned out to be a terrible idea.

first of all, they were in a club.

second of all, soonyoung's friends had gone wild.

seokmin and hansol had had way too many shots with jeonghan, sungcheol, joshua, and wonwoo trying to control them. at some point, hansol elbowed jeonghan in the face on accident and now jeonghan was muttering in the corner next to jihoon and junhui, who were just observing the mess before them nonchalantly.

at some point, jihoon made his way to the dj equipment and effectively pushed the actual dj away from her job.

seungkwan, despite not having anything to drink, was belting out mariah carey on a makeshift stage in some mock karaoke contest.

soonyoung had lost minghao and mingyu almost as soon as the large group had entered the busy establishment, him and the youngest, chan, were simply sitting in their designated booth.

soonyoung, drinking his thoughts away after the sight of his ex and chan, who was there to keep an eye on his older friend.

as he was on his third bottle of whiskey, he saw the girl from earlier, go daeun. nearly all thoughts of his previous partner had been wiped away at this point, a combination of the alcohol in his system and the appearance of daeun.

and so soonyoung's feet began to move almost unconsciously, making their way towards daeun.
