soonyoung had no words. he could see the excitement in her face: she could finally hear music, voices, everything again!

so he hugged her and despite being in a car crash hours before, things were only looking up for both soonyoung and daeun.

the weeks leading up to daeun's operation was full of anxiety, excitement, curiosity, and many other emotions.

soonyoung had been reading nearly everything he could about the cochlear procedure. he discovered that daeun would be able to hear, but not in the same way as before.

daeun wasn't shocked nor was she dismayed. she expected that she would never hear like she used to again, it simply was not possible.

on the day of, daeun felt no anxiety while soonyoung felt the brute of it.

his mind raced with thoughts of "what if it damages her ears more? what if there's an issue with her brain? what if something goes wrong."

sitting in the waiting chair with daeun's mom with a leg bouncing hastily, back bent over, and clasped hands balanced on his knees, kwon soonyoung was the epitome of anxiety.

he had had enough of hospitals and daeun being in them.
