I know it's been awhile since I've updated this story and I haven't had a schedule, but I'm going to try harder to update each of my stories once a week. My fanfic may have to be every two weeks, but my original stories should be once a week.

I have my plan for the next chapters of each of my originals, so I should be able to update this coming week :)

I hope you enjoy this chapter! And if you haven't already, you should check out my newest story, Affectivity: A Teen Wolf Fanfiction

Chapter 9: One of Them

The leader crouches down a little to look his victim in the eyes. Owen lifts his head up slightly to show that he's not backing down yet. "So where are those friends now? Cause I don't see anyone around that's going to help you." Cade provokes.

Owen shoots a fleeting look to the street a couple hundred feet away, where he sees people he recognizes getting out of a car parked on the side. The same car that was driving by a second ago.

"My friends may not be here. But my family is." He responds with a grin.

"Uh... Cade?" James says warningly, causing their leader Cade to straighten up and turn around, seeing the people coming towards them.

"Should we go?" Kevin whispers to Cade, obviously worried about getting caught bullying Owen.

"No. It's just Mason and his sister. They're not a threat. Keep ahold of him." Cade orders, gesturing to Owen who's still in their clutches.

"Mason, what a surprise seeing you here." Cade calls out to Owen's cousin, ignoring Jerica. Which immediately angers her.

Mason and Jerica reach the group quickly, standing side by side to face off with the bullies. "Cade. What are you doing?" Mason questions, casting a worried look to Owen, who's gazing down at the ground.

Owen takes this opportunity to clear his thoughts and pull energy from the ground, closing his eyes to hide the green glow they emit as the power floods into his system.

"Isn't it obvious?" Cade asks with a snarl. "No wonder everyone calls you the dumb twin."

Mason narrows his eyes and Jerica crosses her arms, both of them ready for a fight. "Let him go, Cade." Mason demands as Owen gains some more energy. It's not as much as he can get when he's with his friends, but it's enough to get him through a fight and win it.

"Sure." The leader replies with a grin. "As long as you give Lucas a message for me. I asked your cousin here to do it, but as you can imagine he didn't respond too kindly." Cade bargains, his last sentence being awfully ironic.

"What is it?" Mason asks angrily, feeling bad for Owen who's still staring at the ground, probably in shame for not being able to stick up for himself.

"Tell Lucas I know his big secret." Cade demands to which Jerica immediately agrees.

"Fine. Now let Owen go." She commands, wondering why Cade always has to make things more complicated than they need to be.

The bully looks over his shoulder at Owen, who lifts his head to scowl. "I don't know. I don't think he's learned his lesson yet."

Owen reacts first, ripping free from Kevin and James, then launching himself at Cade. Mason and Jerica jump into the fray immediately.
