Nervous would be an understatement. I was feeling way beyond that.
I have no idea why the pack member's thoughts were important to me. I didn't even know them for God's sake but felt an intangible bond and a sense of protection towards them. Was it because I was the chosen Luna for the Golden Furs pack?
"Don't you worry. They're going to love you Hannah." Lily told me as she placed a hand on my shoulder.
I summoned up all my courage, took a deep breath and replied, "Yeah. Let's go."
I stepped out of my room and noticed a room in the same corridor as mine. The entire pack house had the same antique - looking interior design to it. The house was huge; it was more like a mansion.
I climbed down the stairs with Lily in tow.
"Good morning Luna." A girl, of around the same age as mine, passed by.
I just smiled in acknowledgement, not knowing how to reply.
We reached the bottom of the stairs and I heard a couple talk among themselves. Unluckily for me I heard what they were saying.
"She's so hot man! I'm glad the Alpha took her in." The guy whispered in the girl's ear.
The girl smacked the guy's head. "Idiot! You're not supposed to talk about any other girl like that, except me."
"I can't help it."
I could feel the girl glaring at me.
Okay...
That wasn't the way I was expecting it to go.
Lily showed me around the living room where I met some others from the pack.
It was nice knowing them because they had a welcoming attitude towards me. I'm glad there are some good people in the house otherwise it would've been a disaster.
The only thing that bothered me was the fact that they kept calling me Luna.
I wasn't supposed to be one. At least not of the Golden Furs pack!
"Let's see what Maria's cooking for lunch." Lily grabbed my hand and we headed towards the kitchen.
"Sure." I replied as we made our way out there.
A little boy around the age of 5 years ran into me and his cap fell of his head.
"I'm sorry I wasn't looking. Did I hurt you?" He looked guilty and scared.
"Hey I'm alright." I smiled, assuring him that I'm not going to scold him. "Here's your cap." I handed his cap over to him.
"Thank you." He replied and giggled when I ruffled his brown, silky hair.
"What is your name?" I asked him, sitting down to his level.
"I am Ben. And you?"
"I'm Hannah." I told him, smiling.
"Wow, your name is so pretty. You are also pretty." He told, blushing a little.
I chuckled at his response.
"And you are really cute." I smiled at him.
"Mamma is waiting for me. I have to go. Bye." He told going out in a hurry, but not before kissing me on the cheek.
"That guy must really like you. He never talks to anybody except his uncle." Lily told me.
"Who is he?" I asked.
