I Reject You

Chapter 33

*Ashler's POV*

I really have no idea how Hannah was so calm about yesterday, but I have been losing my mind just thinking about that.

How dare that rogue cross OUR freaking borders. I'd have skinned him alive had I gotten there first, I swear. A part of me wishes to send his corpse back to his leader but I'm not that inhumane. He'll be buried just like he deserves to be.

But I have to admit the fact that Hannah really impressed me yesterday. I'm not saying that I considered her weak or something to be able to win a fight, but just looking at her fight made me fall for her more than ever.

The girl wasn't even half scared as I was for her. The freaking rogue was double her size, yet all I could see was determination in her eyes. The way she fought was that of a pack army member.

I knew that I was right waiting for Hannah in the side lines when she was figuring herself out. She's the perfect Luna for the Golden Furs pack and I couldn't be more thankful and proud of her. I'm a lot less stressed out as our respective duties have been naturally divided and can actually focus on what I'm good at.

The only task at hand that remains now is to take my revenge from Jacob who even dared to hurt my mate. His attempts have been thankfully unsuccessful up till now but a part of me can't help but feel scared.

I can't let anyone or anything take her away from me and this pack but I'm well aware of the fact that I can't do this alone. I need my pack's support and that is what I was going to talk to them about today.

We were gathered in the training grounds just like every other morning. I had increased the pack training by another hour due to whatever had happened yesterday.

I knew that everyone had questions about what had happened with the rogue but nobody dared to ask Hannah or me about it. However, I didn't want to keep them in the dark anymore either.

"Okay, you can all stop after doing some relaxing stretches. We're done for today." I announced, gaining everyone's attention.

I could hear thousands of relieved sighs and murmurs of thank you.

"However, before we dismiss today's session, I have something important to discuss with you all. Please try to listen with an open mind because we really need your support right now."

I held Hannah's hand as a way of comforting myself and continued whatever I had to say. "Whatever I'm about to say must remain between us and this because I trust you all, I'm going to go ahead and say it."

I could see eyebrows furrowed in confusion and faces wondering about whatever crucial thing I was going to say.

I started telling them about Hannah's story after receiving her approval last night. Not the whole personal part, just the important stuff leading up to Jacob.

"So, undeniably the rogue was a part of Jacob's army of rogues who had come here to harm your Luna, or any other pack member as a warning. Thankfully he is dead now but we can't let it slide easily. There could be more attacks in the coming future and I want us to be prepared beforehand. This is the reason why we've been having these training sessions everyday in the morning since a month too."

I could hear audible gasps from the crowd from my words. Some seemed scared, some angry.

"Having said that, we're planning to attack Jacob's pack soon, 10 days to be precise. You've all grown tremendously with your skills and defenses and I believe you can stand your ground if you want to." I concluded.

"But there's no pressure either. It's a completely voluntary decision if you want or don't want to be a part of the war. We'd totally understand if you don't want to risk your lives for someone else. The army leader had originally suggested that the women and children be not called for this meeting but Ashler and I decided to at least let you all know about the upcoming war so that you can take an informed decision because we believe that the women and children are no less than our male fighters." Hannah added, smiling at the crowd in front of her.
