I Reject You

Chapter 23

Shortly after waiting outside Ashler and Lily's parents home, the door was opened.

A woman stood there smiling at us in a welcoming gesture. She looked just like an older version of Lily and some of her features were similar to Ashler's.

Honestly, she was beautiful! Even at her age, her features were so gracious and elegant that she could easily win a beauty contest. I probably looked like a potato next to her.

"Welcome my dear children." She said moving aside so that we could enter.

Lily walked inside first and kissed her mother on her cheek "Good morning mom."

She skipped inside the home (literally).

Ashler walked into the home next with me in tow.

"I'm so happy for you." She said stroking Ashler's cheek in a loving gesture. I understood she said it in respect of the mate thing.

"Me too." Ashler said, smiling down at me.

He nodded at her mom and walked inside the home leaving me with his mom.

Although she looked pretty friendly, I was shit scared.

"Hello Luna." I greeted her bowing in respect.

"Oh dear, just call me Martha." She said pulling me into a surprising hug.

I hugged her back and when we pulled she was smiling at me. "I was waiting to meet you since so long. Oh my God, you're just as beautiful as Ashler had described."

I blushed and quietly thanked her for the compliment.

I accompanied her into their living room where Ashler and Lily were already sitting, bickering over something.

I guess I just keep on learning something new about Ashler everyday.

"You children need to grow up." Martha scolded Lily and Ashler. "You are in front of your mate and you're going to meet your mate." She said pointing at Ashler and Lily respectively.

Lily's face visibly changed but I guess she pushed her thoughts aside. Ashler just sat there smirking.

"But she started it." Ashler said in a somewhat whining tone.

I raised an eyebrow at his childish behavior.

Lily gasped in disbelief and said, "I did not. He started it."

Ashler said flicking Lily's forehead making her growl in anger. "Oh you are so dead." 

I covered my mouth to stop any giggles from escaping.

Before she could do any harm further, Martha shouted, "STOP IT this instant. Ashler how will you stop your pups from fighting when you clearly haven't grown up yourself?"

There was so much authority in her voice that Ashler and Lily separated from each other that instant.

For future reference I need to remember that alpha Ashler, who is the leader of almost 5000  people, is definitely afraid of his mother.

Whereas me? My cheeks were red from what she said.
