Ashler and I entered the hall walking close together because we didn't want anyone to know about the tension between us.
It wasn't that big of a surprise for us to see the room full of other werewolves and their mates. They clearly in love with each other. Some of them were dancing and the others were standing with wine glasses in their hands.
The place was beautifully decorated with yellow fairy lights all around and a huge glass chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
Many of the couples came to greet us and congratulate us. We replied with a polite 'thank you' and an awkward smile playing it safe.
A couple walked towards us. I recognized them as the ones I saw from the hotel room. They looked beautiful together.
The guy came and shook hands with Ashler.
"Congratulations Ashler! Finally you found your mate." He said, passing a friendly smile towards me.
"Uhh yes. Thanks." Ashler replied.
A wave of guilt rushed through my veins once again.
"Well you're one lucky guy." The girl said, winking.
He gave a small smile but I could notice the pain in his eyes.
"I am. Anyways, this is my mate Hannah Parker. And Hannah, this is Alpha Daniel and his mate Celine." He said gesturing towards us.
"Oh well, I'm stealing Hannah away from you for some time. Don't miss her too much." Celine said sticking out her tongue at Ashler.
"Celine!" Alpha Daniel placed a finger at his lips subtly asking her to keep quiet.
Ashler and I laughed at them. Alpha Daniel was actually a little embarrassed by Celine's behavior but he almost smiled probably because he loved her.
He was more on the silent side whereas Celine, well she was a chatterbox. He was mature whereas she was childish. They were opposites but somehow fit together perfectly.
Ultimately the guys went to get drinks and Celine pulled me to a table and sat on the chair next to me.
We talked for only a couple of minutes when she asked me the most dreaded question.
"Where's your mark?" She asked me confused.
I looked at her neck and noticed a beautiful claw mark sitting there. It complemented her so well. Don't ask me why but it was difficult to imagine Celine without it.
"We haven't mated yet." I said trying to cover my neck with my palm unconsciously.
"Duh." She said rolling her eyes. " I mean why?"
"Uhh we wanted to wait a little longer before we mated because we just met." I half- lied.
"Wow! You guys must be having a lot of self control then. Daniel and I couldn't keep our hands to ourselves since the moment we saw each other." She said, looking over at Alpha Daniel as he and Ashler were walking towards us.
I looked over at Ashler as well. Little does he know how hard I was fighting my wolf.
"Why are you guys back so soon? We just began talking." Celine said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I was missing you babe." Alpha Daniel said, kissing her on her cheek.
"Well Hannah I don't think you guys should wait any longer. Ashler wants it badly, don't you Ashler?" She asked him pinching his cheeks.
"Celine..." Alpha Daniel said, face palming himself.
"What do I want?" Ashler asked, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
