One month. That is the deadline Asher had given us for attacking Jacob's pack.

"Why don't we attack within a couple of days or something? This would catch them off guard as well." Beta Sandy had suggested.

"No, we can't do that. Although you've got a point about catching them off guard, but I cannot let my wolves be in danger. We need this time to let Lily get close enough to his ass of a mate and extract the necessary information. We also need this time to let everyone train harder and prepare themselves because if I'm guessing correctly, Jacob's pack is stronger than ever. We can't go there unprepared and get our members killed just because of our impatience." Ashler had replied.

It stunned me. I knew he was the Alpha for many good reasons, but the way he's treading carefully around the whole situation, caring about the members instead of jumping right into war is what makes him a good Alpha.

We were currently in Asher's room. I was wearing his t- shirt and we were lying on his bed. I loved wearing his t- shirts to bed. It made me feel really safe.

I watched my mate proudly and saw him silently reply to me with a smile.

"We're going to win baby." He spoke to me softly.

"I hope so too." I replied.

After a moment of silence I said, "Asher, do you think it makes sense to make everyone train for a war which they don't even know about? Will they be motivated enough?"

"I've been meaning to tell everyone about it in a week into their training so that they've already had adrenaline rushing through them. This will also give us time to separate the ones who'll be taken for the fight and who won't. It makes no sense at all to tell everyone about Jacob and his sick plans and get them worried for no reason. We will give hardcore training sessions and teach fighting skills only to the ones who will be willing to fight for their Luna." He answered me.

"Do they even know me enough to have them fight for me? I mean, I'm sure they've seen me around the pack house and heard things but I'd really like to have them all officially meet me." I announced my thoughts. "Only if it's okay with you." I quickly added.

"Of course it's okay with me. You have the rights to decide things for the pack too. We're equals, remember? In fact, I think it's a brilliant idea!" He smiled up at me brightly.

"See, that's why you need me." I teased him.

"I'll always need you." He replied cheekily.

I pinched his cheeks playfully that made him scowl at me. "Don't push it." He grumbled.

I laughed at him heartily.

"By the way, I still haven't taken you out for a proper date." Ashler took me by surprise by saying this.

"You don't need to, actually. I'm sure you're already pre- occupied with the whole Jacob situation." I tried explaining to him.

I had barely seen him all day today since he had walked out of his room this morning. It was only now in the night that I was seeing him again. I know that he has been working hard trying to develop strategies and contact other packs.

"Bullshit. I'm doing all of it for you. It makes absolutely no sense if I'm not able to keep you happy." He replied, spreading warmth all over my body.

"Thank you." I said.

"How does tomorrow night sound? We could go into the city or somewhere more private, whatever you'd like." He asked me.

I debated between city and the other unknown place he'd suggested. I shuddered as I thought about what had happened when Lily and I had gone into the city last time.
