You secretly took a peek of his practice with his teammates, he was dribbling the ball and shooting multiple times of course, he was also the captain of the team.

He shined in his sweaty sports attire but he managed to still look great with his disheveled hair. All those moments flashed back through your mind, the kinds of moments where he was still your bestfriend and not the Guanlin that completely forgot about your friendship.

Well he couldn't help it, with a great future in basketball, he spent most of his time practicing himself and with his girlfriend. You weren't surprised when he got together with one of the prettiest girls in school because he was also dashing himself.

You never knew why he did not find time for you as the best friend, he was always surrounded by his teammates and he had Somin by his side most of the time. The both of you just drifted apart when he became the captain of the basketball team. All the attention was to him and he felt so overwhelmed that he told you lies about practices and was always late whenever you meet up.
You remembered his words clearly when you asked him why he never found time to be with you.

"I told you Guanlin, she's no good." Somin really was.

"Somin doesn't want me hanging out with you because you keep on saying bad things to her." You felt pathetic, you were the best friend but you were just a best friend.

Somin went near him just a few minutes after their break and you decided to leave the gym. You actually just passed by and went to get meet your teacher who was running late for his next class. The papers you had in your arms felt heavier than they looked and you felt even more frustrated for seeing such a lovely sight of your ex- bestfriend with a girl clinging onto him.

"Let me carry that for you." Jinyoung appears by your side and he took half of the papers from you.

"Thanks Jinyoung." You walked back to class together and you sighed in your seat.

You barely get to see him, he practices for the upcoming competition and is always at the gym. The school really makes him and his team an exception.

"You passed by the gym again today, right?" Chaeyeon looked at you with worry in her eyes.

She became your torch when Guanlin left or more like chose to end your friendship. You could only nod your head and sighed again, there was nothing new about that. Although you've come to despise his decision, you still watch him play secretly. Chaeyeon knows that you avoid him as much as you can because you did not want him to see you, you just wanted to truly cut ties with him.

When you headed home after class, the convenience store nearby was very tempting, your favorite banana milk was calling you. It reminded you of him again, you both liked banana milk.

You sighed in defeat after giving in and sprinting to where the banana milk was. But before you could grasp the only banana milk that was remaining, you clashed with someone else's hand that was reaching for what you were about to get.

When you met his gaze, you regretted your decision of stepping into the store and drifted back quickly.

"Wait!" Guanlin called after you but you were running.

"Stop running, okay? And stop avoiding me." He caught up to you but it wasn't really a surprise, he was athletic after all.

"Let go of me." You tried to squirm away from his tight grip but he was stronger, the only thing that you could do was glare at him with hate.

"I've been trying to talk to you for months already, won't you even give me a chance?" He was serious, but so were you.

"I've had enough of liars and people like you." You roughly broke his hand away from yours and started to walk again.

"Please, I'm trying to fix our friendship."

"It's too late and too broken for you to do that, why don't you just hang out with Somin?" He was at fault and you did not want to hear him apologize, because you knew you'd give in.

"I broke up with Somin, okay? You were right about her."

"I'm leaving." He tugged onto your shirt like his life depended on it.

"Please forgive me for not believing you, please listen." You gulped hard, if you face him now, you'll lose all the efforts you did to ignore him.

"I can't Guanlin, if I do, then we'll be friends again."

"Then let's be friends."

"But you put me through a lot and I ignored you to pay back, It's not easy, Guanlin."

"I miss hearing you say my name." You froze when he hugged you in the back.

"Let me go Guanlin, I'm just a foolish girl who doesn't know how to forgive." And then you ran away from him.

With tears in your eyes, you never looked back and tried to let yourself remember that he chose to ditch your birthday for Somin. You even let everyone wait before eating but he never came, even the days after that. It was only when a few days has passed when he remembered you existed.
