I Have A Friend

I have a friend... we've grown quite close, of my love she is a host.
We like what we like, and what we like is the same.
But out of embarrassment I wont mention her name.
For what if she knew of what I now write?
And that the sight of her make my heart take flight?
Would she accept my love or turn me down flat.
Then discard our friendship and that would be that.
There have been time -in the dark- where I've held her close.
And the times that we danced I remember the most.
Of all my friends kindness am I ready to miss?
Would it all go to hell if I planted a kiss?
There's only one way to know, but is it a way I dear?
And to pull such a thing on her... well it hardly seams fair.
Well... I'm running out of thought -but I've decided.
No matter what I do, I'd rather keep her than not.
