FIRE-EATER

Flick the Bic, strike a match,
pop one in and down the hatch.
Light the fire than pick it up,
place it on the tongue, don't throw up.
A match aflame, to be eaten like candy,
want a fireball? Add some brandy.
On a flame to dine or sup,
eat the flame to fill you up.
Take a torch, drag it up your arm,
skin aflame yet stand unharmed.
Hold a burning torch in your mouth,
than drop it in to put it out.
Chemicals mixed to be used for later,
its to help fire disappear in a flash of paper.
Jury-rig a lighter to make the flame 6in tall,
blow cornstarch over it to make a fireball.
Flash-cotton and paper added to a spark,
fire to light to burst apart.
Kill the lights watch the show,
will the house burn down, who could know?
Fire over skin and flames leap higher,
add some fuel to the growing pier.
Hand run over flames to extinguish their life,
darkness now, floods back into the night.
A single light, lit one last time,
a stolen soul from you now mine.
I have your wander, I have your awe,
now down my hatch it to does fall.

"How is it done?" I will never tell.
"how do you make the fire grow and swell?"
what I do is scare the dark,
what I do is a practiced art.
I give fire life and absorb energy,
I show a gift and amaze many.

Some do not care for it, they see no light,
they cannot see joy burning bright.
They do not marvel but stay in the dark,
they turn their heads to my beautiful art.

Some try to call it a bluff or yell out "cheater!"
but there's to cheating when you're a FIRE-EATER.
