Wondering thoughts while holding hands,
Bad wolf and spray paint cans.
Receding rails under the expansive sky,
Almost as blue as your scintillating eyes
Shimmering water under an old wood dock,
My arms around your waist as my time stops.
Then we hear the train on the tracks,
We run at full speed to make it back.
Despite my efforts I couldn't catch,
Then train faded from our view,
You took my hand as I stood next to you.
Later that night we walked downtown,
passing softly lit shops as we wondered around.
We had stopped to dance under the stars,
With the moon both near and far.
Then your face lit up and you grabbed my hand,
You said "come with me" and off you ran.
The world faded till one one thing remained,
You're hand in mine and the silent train.
I couldn't believe your thoughts gift,
As you presented me with what I thought I'd missed.
We climbed abroad and lightly sat down,
As I enjoyed your smile and laughing sounds.
We talked of life, we talked of death,
I read poetry as you rested your head on my chest.
Then you took me to see your favorite tree,
With a life of its own connected to thee.
We stood between the ground and it's branches.
You talked of dying as I spoke of chances.
I offered a deal that you'd live 10 good years,
Then my hellhounds would be at your heels.
Then to hold up the contract's code,
We did what you do when you come to the crossroads.
Then arm in arm we walked back to the he proud rail-rider,
Our laugher getting louder as the world grew quieter.
Eventually as we left it behind I was fill with thoughts,
And I was determined to not throw away my shot.
I couldn't help but express my gratitude,
Having been taken by your sweet actions and attitude.
As the night ended only good memories remain,
Of the moments with you, the girl that caught train.
