They ask why I changed my hair,
Why I changed the way I talk.
Why did you change the way you walk?
They asked why did I change where I stand?
I miss the boy you were they say,
Why did he leave and where did he go?
I look at them like "the hell if I know"
Yet they want to know why didn't he say.
He left because he was sad and week,
He's gone because he got wiser,
And if I didn't tell you I'd be a lair,
He's never coming back for he was meek.
There was someone I needed to protect,
A heart I needed to take care of,
A sweet love I needed to cherish.
And I keep a loving heart inside my chest.
They ask me where the boy had gone...
The boy had friends that took their lives,
The boy had friends that found their wives,
He saw what was right and what was wrong.
The evil hurt his heart and took his childhood.
He lost his way and closed his eyes...
He never did grow up to be wise.
And if I could find the boy you know I would.
For he's in the cold part of my heart...
But the loving heart I hid for her,
Has dug in deep and found a soul.
The boy's fear slowly fell apart.
You all may miss where the boy used to stand,
Asking for him back so you can use him,
Wanting to infect him with your sin,
But while you brood of vipers lost a boy...
...my Love found a MAN.
