"...of equal or grater force,"
through my veins adrenalin dose course.
Time slows and tiers screech,
a deafening crash and flash of heat.
Rain stars to fall that I cannot feel,
my muscles shake and the world starts to real.
Strong arms pull me out,
I hear muffled yells and shouts.
I'm rolling along again but cannot move,
the light of life I start to lose.
"Wake up.... WAKE UP!" I awake,
lights shine down on my face.
My dad is with me, he's doing fine,
"It was you I feared for, not myself the whole time."
He holds my hand is his,
and I'd rather be no one else's kid.
They take me away and role me through the halls,
they poke and prod and make some calls.
Then they leave me strapped down and alone,
all I want is to go back home.
My patience and nerves start to fray,
then dad walks in and I knew It'd be OK.
For when I'm scared and bravery drops to zero,
I know he'll protect me, my dad and hero.

Thank you for saving me,
in more ways than one.
