"Deep in the woods, where
no one can find them, deeper
than you or I know.

That's where they live, so
tall and so strong and their skin,
so whiter than snow.

They live with the trees,
the forest their friend, so safe
is the place where they stay.

Creatures of magic;
wielders of elements, the
earth even obey.

They speak a language
that all of us know, but the
words we cannot say.

Few humans have been
to see these creatures, and none
can follow their way.

Who are they you may
ask, I'll tell you indeed they
are the elvenkind.

If you intrude, with
intentions unkind, your life
will be theirs, not thane.

But if you enter
intentions pure, kindly you'll
be treated in turn.

And if you stay here
with elven folk, the outside
world you will not yearn.
