I woke up the next day with a lovely message from Thomas.

"Good morning, beautiful", I read on the screen of my phone. "I hope you'll have a good day."

I smiled as I texted back, wishing him the same.

There were only three days left until the big event and my inbox was already full with questions and notifications from the suppliers.

I chose to let Thomas out of all this stressful things. He was the guest of honor, so he had a speech to write. Not that he would focus at it anyway, because he constantly messaged me.

"I miss you", a text message said, making me blush. "Can I come over?"

"No, finish your speech first!", I replied.

As much as I wanted to keep my mouth shut, I couldn't help myself not to wonder what happened between Jasmine and Thomas.

"What happened with Jasmine?", I texted him after a couple of minutes. He didn't reply immediately, but after another couple of minutes.

"You really know how to kill someone's mood", he said and I instantly felt sorry for asking him such things.

I put my phone down, squeezing my eyes in annoyance at my attitude. I wasn't in the place for questioning him, even if we kissed. My mind recalled that night with the awful fight we had and how he made it clear that his personal life was none of my business.

My eyes filled with tears at the thought of how much of an effect his words have on me. The feeling of embarrassment grew stronger when I realized I might have been fooled and dragged into this project, just to be left alone again once it would be over. But then again, I had to think about the children.

My phone went to life again, noticing me I had another text message from Thomas.

"We've broken up. You were right about her", he simply said and I didn't want to ask him anything else.

I chose to mind my own business without keeping him distracted from writing his speech. Most of the things for the big event were already settled, so it was just a matter of details now. But sometimes those details make the difference.

I checked the plan over and over again to be sure nothing will be missed.

And when I was finally done with everything it was almost 8 PM. I decided it was enough for one day and I went inside the bathroom for a well deserved shower.

Feeling the hot water all over my body, I couldn't stop thinking about Thomas; his hands around my waist and his lips against mine. I was sure we would have gone further if I had allowed it. And I wanted to, but once again, my principles of life stepped in and took control of the situation. I didn't regret it though, I was a woman with a strong character; I just wished the moment had lasted a little bit longer.

My daydream has disappeared when I heard someone knocking on my flat's door. I quickly went out of the shower and put some towels around me, as the person from the other side of the door insisted with the knocks. I hurried and opened it, just to see Thomas with a panicked look on his face. He was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and black t-shirt, but no jacket; his hair was a blond mess signing that he had left in a hurry.

"Y/N", he said as he eyed me standing there, half naked in front of him. "What are you doing? Have I done something wrong?"

His eyes went wide as he tried to touch me, but I took a step back, frowning.

"I was in the shower Thomas, what's wrong?"

He let his hand down, but he was still looking at me with a scared look.
