Chapter: 10 Running An Errand

Chapter: 10

A few days later...

Serena's POV: 

I finally get to move around as I have been stuck in bed for the last few days since I got injured. Ezio mostly kept me entertained with his adventures that he had gone on and the people he had met along the way. He even told me what had happen to his father and brothers. He even told me that he misses them every single day. In Monteriggioni, Tuscany is where his Uncle that lives in a Villa with his sister Claudia and his mother. Ezio told me that his mother won't speak now, not ever since what had happen back in Florence. We had surprisingly grown closer and I can say that I somewhat trust him now. 

I finally get to go outside, but only with Ezio. They're still worry that the hooded-man could be anywhere in this damn city. I agreed with them, but I think they're just overreacting a bit. I shook my head as I walk down the street of Venice with Ezio at my side. We avoided people here and there as I had my cloak on and my hood up. I look around to not see anyone, but I felt like he was watching me from somewhere. It could be just me, but I don't know. I slowly let out a tense breath as Ezio look at me with a reassuring smile. 

Even I was still wondering where the hooded-man could be right now. I want answers to my questions, but first I will have to understand everything that comes with my questions and the answers to them. I want to ask Ezio my questions, but I don't know if I should. I'll just stay quiet and wait a little longer if I have to. Ezio led me over to a florist who had a cart full of different flowers as he pick out a red rose and gave it me. I chuckled as I took it from him "Thank you, Ezio" 

"Every woman needs to be shower with roses from time to time" Ezio said with a smile on his face.

"I'm not like every other woman that is out there, Ezio" I said while rolling my eyes as I smell the rose.

He step closer to me holding my gaze with his as there was sly grin on his face as he took the rose and slip it in my hair "Oh...Serena. I know you are not like those other woman out there..." 

I felt my cheeks flushing incredibly warm as I look away from his as he chuckled "Come...we still got to do few things still, Serena" 

I nodded as I follow him as he continue down the road of Venice. The sun was shining down on us as I look around while following him. I look around sensing that I'm being watch as I slow my pace to look carefully around my surroundings. Someone is watching me and I can feel the back of my hairs standing on end. My breathing became shallow as I saw someone disappearing around the corner of an alleyway and I was about to go after them, but Ezio gently grab my hand. 

"What is it, Serena?" He asked softly as he gaze at me. 

My heart was beating wildly in my chest as that person look familiar in some way, but I answer calmly as I look at Ezio "It's nothing...I thought I felt someone watching me, but it's gone now" 

Ezio look around as well not seeing anyone as he look back at me as he murmured "Stay close to me...were almost there, Serena. Then we can go back to Leonardo's place" 

I nodded as he let go of my hand and began to walk forward as I follow him closely to wherever we were going. We came to where a doctor was as he was selling his merchandise as there was some woman trying to seduce men. I roll my eyes as Ezio stop and I ran into him on accident. He chuckled "Sorry...should have warn you that I was stopping." I felt his hands on my waist as he turn around to face me. 

He added as he pointed upward "I have to go up there for a minute to retrieve a message that I have been waiting for...will you be okay down here? I know you can't climb upwards with me"
