Chapter: 39 Back in Venice

Chapter: 39

Serena's POV: 

We were in Venice as we had stop at a courtesan place that Ezio knows the woman there. She let us stay the night and now we were walking to Leonardo's place. It was beautiful here as it always was here in Venice. It felt peaceful as it should be and I let out a content sigh as I felt like I have truly found my purpose. My place to be and that is next to Ezio's side as I face down my own father. He will stand by me until the very end. I will have my revenge for what he did to my mother and my brother. He will answer for his sins, if it's the last thing that I do. 

We arrive at Leonardo's place as he open the door for us and we enter his study. It remind me of a person a long time ago and I still could remember her face. I could still remember his face and the way he had help me out through many things in my life. I felt my chest tighten as my heart began to ache as I remember Andrea. I miss him greatly and I wish he didn't have to sacrifice himself for me. He could have done something differently, but maybe not. It has been a while since I have thought of him and Marsilia. I wonder how she is doing...I hope I get to see her soon. 

Leonardo spoke breaking me out of my thoughts "It's so good to see you guys again..."

"As it is good to see you as well, Leonardo" Ezio said smiling at him.

I smile at Leonardo as he kiss both of my cheeks "Welcome back, Serena"

"Thank you, Leonardo" I smile at him. 

"So what did I do to deserve a generous visit from my favorite assassin?" He asked smirking.

Ezio chuckle "We have came to discuss on what to do and if we should take action against her father or not" 

"And why do you need me, Ezio?" He asked as there was pure confusion on his face.

"I need you to repair my blade, it had been damaged in battle" Ezio said. 

"I can do that now and you guys can take a seat on that lovely sofa that I just purchase" He said smiling at us as he remove Ezio's brace. 

I took a seat on the sofa and put one leg on top of the other as Ezio sat down next to me. He took my hand in his as he thread his fingers with mine and I smile as I look at him. He smile as well as he took his other hand and pull my hood down. My dark hair fell around my shoulders as he place a kiss on my cheek. I felt so much older than I truly am and I don't know why that is. It felt nice being here with him and to think we have to face my father soon. 

Ezio look over at Leonardo to see that he was working on the brace and I lay my head on Ezio's shoulder. He lay his head on mine and I let out a sigh of contentment. I felt peaceful and that's a good thing with everything that had happen recently. Now, I just have to summon my courage to face my father once and for all. 

My eyes were fluttering shut as I was beginning to feel sleepy once again as we waited for Leonardo to be done with the brace. The darkness took me away as I fell asleep once more.

Someone was gently waking me up from my slumber as I open my eyes up slowly. I heard a soft voice calling my name and I look up to see Ezio's smiling face looking down at me. I realize that I wasn't asleep on his shoulder, but I was in the bed again. I was confused as I pull the blanket down to look out and then I look over to the window. I look back over at Ezio as he chuckle "We didn't want to wake you up, so we let you sleep. It's night time now...Leonardo had finish my brace and he is now doing yours" 

I smile up at him "You should have woken me up, Ezio" 

"I know you haven't been sleeping well for a couple of days now, Serena. You need sleep just like anybody else..." He murmured quietly. 

So, he knows that I haven't been sleeping well. I just thought he ignore that part, but I guess not. I thought I was being sneaky, but I guess not. A sigh escape from me as I murmured "Oh Ezio..." 

He chuckle as he press his lips to mine and I return his kiss as he slowly pull away from me "Oh my dear sweet Serena..." 

I chuckle as I look up at him and he look down at me "How long was I out?" 

"Since we sat down on the sofa...you slept the day away" He murmured. 

I shook my head as I whine "And you shouldn't have let me slept that long!"

"Deal with it, Serena" Ezio said chuckling. 

I grumble underneath my breath as he place a kiss on my cheek and I look up at him "What was that for?"

He shrug his shoulders "I felt like it..."

I chuckle as I whisper "I love you, Ezio"

He smile down at me and whisper back "I love you too...Serena" 

He pull me closer to him as I lay my head against his chest as we lay there together. We were content just being right here with each other. I'm so happy to find someone like him. I can't believe how much Ezio means so much to me. I will make sure that my father goes down and we won't have to worry so much about anything anymore. He press a kiss to my forehead as a smile spread across my lips. I could stay here with him forever in this moment...
