Chapter: 11 Escape and Unexpected Visitor

Chapter: 11

Serena's POV: 

A sigh escape from me as it was very late and I know Leonardo had pass out on his desk while Ezio was asleep against the far wall. I was pacing around the room deciding on what to do. I couldn't fall asleep tonight, not even a wink. My mind was swirling with thoughts and the need to go back to Florence. It was eating up inside of me and all I could do was pace around the room. I felt like I owe them something for the kindness that they have shown me. I'm kidding myself, I know I owe them for letting me stay here with them. Especially after everything that had happen... 

I want to know who that guy was earlier that was watching me and Ezio. I want to know what he wants or if he was spying for the hooded-man. He look familiar though even though I didn't get a good look at the guy. I grab my cloak that I have taken it off earlier when I had come in here to try and get some sleep that never came. I slip it on finally making my decision as I felt guilty in doing it. I open the window as it squeak and I froze in place. 

Ezio and Leonardo were sure to come after that loud squeak. My heart was pounding madly in my chest as I waited to be caught, but everything was still quiet. I slowly climb out of the window as I put both of my feet onto the ground and quickly went down the alleyway that I had come out in. I made my way to the end of the alleyway as I look behind me at the open window. I leave it open so they know. I already wrote a letter to them and now I'm going to go my own way. 

A sigh escape from me as I continued to walk down the street of Venice with my cloak bellowing out behind me. I pull my hood up as I look around feeling a little uneasy to be out here by myself, especially if that person is out here still watching my every step. I didn't feel like I was being watch, but I don't know if I am or not. My heart was beating in my chest again from the fear that was strumming through my veins. I turn on a different street that was kind of deserted and with that someone grab me from behind and slip a hand over my mouth to keep my scream muffled. 

I struggled against the person that had a hold on me as I try to get one of my screams to escape from the hand that was on my mouth. I couldn't get out of the person's arms as the hold on me only tightens even more as I was drag backwards into an alleyway. I try everything and I couldn't even bite down on the person's hand as my lips were seal shut from the person's hands. I felt my lungs burning for the oxygon that they crave. I struggled even move as the person turn me around roughly before shoving me into the wall. 

I suck in a breath as my hand quickly went into my stash as I pull out a dagger before rashly attacking the person that was in front of me. I was sucking in lungful of air as the person dodged my attack once more. The person grab my wrists as the person pin them down by my side. The person was a guy as the moon reflect down on us. The person breath out raggedly "I'm sorry...I didn't...mean to... frighten you, Serena" 

The voice sounds strangely familiar as I point my dagger at the guy standing before me "Who are you and why do you know my name? Who sent you?" 

"No one...sent me, Serena. Have you forgotton me? Then again it has been a long time, hasn't it?" He answered me. 

My brain finally registers who it was as I began to tremble and my dagger almost fell out of my hand as I said a little shaky "B-brother?" 

"Yes...Serena. It's me..." He murmured again as he gently reach out taking my wrist and taking the dagger out of my hand. He threw it on the ground as he embrace me as I felt like a statue just standing there. I slowly wrap my arms around him as I burst into tears that I have been holding back since I felt lost. 

He soothe me as I was lost for words on how to speak though him as I tighten my arms around him holding his skinny frame closer to me. I sob out "I miss you, Antonio...everyday! I haven't went a day without thinking of you and mother"
