Meet Elizabeth "Betty" Cooper. She's a good student, perfect daughter, great cheerleader and an overall nice person. Everything in her life seems perfect: perfect boyfriend, perfect friends, perfect grades and perfect home.
Little did she know, everything was about to change.
This story begins on the first day of senior year.
After 3 months of having fun in the sun, as hsm said, it was finally here: senior year. Betty didn't know if she was excited or nervous, but fuck it. This was her time to shine! Well shine more. She was already shining. A lot. She didn't need to prove herself to anyone because they all already knew she was the best student. But like psh..... details. Go Betty!! You're a star honey!
The clock hit 6:30am and her alarm went off. She definitely did not miss this part of high school. But she, very unwillingly, pulled herself out of her incredibly cozy bed and started getting ready. She had already picked out an outfit the night before: a light pink flower top with a beige cardigan, short brown skirt and beige ankle boots. To top it all off, she'd wear her favourite butterfly necklace, which was sort of a good luck charm for her. She knew having good luck charms was stupid and pretententious (or so some people thought), but she liked it. And who knows, it might come in handy. I mean, it was the first day of school... anything could happen.
(here's the outfit if you were wondering)
(ok back to the story)
Once out of bed, she took a shower and got ready. Man she was nervous. Or was she excited? She couldn't tell anymore. All of her emotions were mixing up and forming a ball in the pit of her stomach. She was feeling something she'd never felt before: somehow, she knew that this year was gonna one hell of a rollercoaster... Well that was great. Just when she wanted a peaceful year before everything ended *eye roll* guess not then. Well, she didn't know for sure, but she really wanted this year to be perfect. All her hard and painful years of high school were about to come to an end and she was tired of all the drama and problems that came with getting an education.
One thing she was sure she was excited about was seeing Jughead again. She was excited about seeing the others of course, she had really missed Archie, Kevin and... Veronica. Why did i pause before saying Veronica?? Weird. Anyway yeah, she was super excited to see everyone.
Jughead had been her boyfriend since they were Sophomores two years ago, and he was still the dream boyfriend. He had good grades and great hair (hair is important ok fight me), he was so creative and sweet.... Basically the ideal boyfriend (not the jock kind). He was the type of guy every girl dreams about. He had a slight bad boy vibe to him, but was a complete sweetheart to Betty. They'd spend countless nights lying in each other's arms, while watching a movie or tv shows (like Friends). Betty basically forced him to watch Friends with her, even if they always ended up watching the episodes where Ross and Rachel were together. Seeing them apart was "just too painful" according to her... She also drilled the words "THEY WEREN'T ON A BREAK" into his head... Hence why i said "forced" him to watch Friends.; he wasn't a big fan of the show. Even through that, he always listened to her and was supportive of her no matter what. Some would say that he was even "too perfect" and that she "needed a little more excitement in her life" (well, it was mostly Ronnie that said that but that's not the point here), but she didn't care. She found a keeper, and she was planning on keeping him.
After getting ready, she made her way downstairs to get some breakfast before heading out. She still had loads of time to kill before going to hell. She came down to her parents already being at the table reading the newspaper. The tables was filled with bread and jam, and in front of her seat there was even a glass of orange juice. Aw she thought. No good morning but at least i have orange juice! *eye roll*. After sitting down, her mother slightly lowered her paper to look at her daughter with her judgy eyes hidden behind her glasses.
-"You ready for school Elizabeth?" She asked with a tone that insinuated that she didn't fully care, or at least was pretending not to.
-"Yeah i'll be heading out in a few minutes... but mom?"
-"Yes?"
-"I told you to call me Betty"
Instead of answering, her mother simply eye rolled and went back to reading her apparently fascinating newspaper. Her father smirked at the remark but didn't look up.
Her parents were certainly... Interesting... people. Now when I said "perfect home" earlier, i didn't mean a perfect home life. I just meant that her house was the perfect white picket fence type of home. Nothing is ever perfect in a person's life: everyone has at least one flawed thing. And Betty's flawed thing was her parents. Ever since they'd sent Polly away for getting pregnant, they had changed. They became darker, as if the mask they had been wearing for years around her and her sibling was gone. Now, every conversation they had was short and dry. She sometimes managed to get a smile out of her mother and a smirk out of her father, but they didn't last. Her mom worked as a journalist for Riverdale's most popular newspaper along with her dad, and years of working that job had obviously taken a toll on them. She didn't blame them, they constantly had to snoop into other people's business and look for the information that didn't want to be found, which sometimes got people hurt. They had done it for so long, the havoc they caused didn't affect them much anymore. Betty didn't agree with what they did, but she was done trying to stop them. All she could do now was understand why they acted the way they did, even if it sucked to be in a home like that.
Anyways enough about them.
After having eaten, she got up and made her way towards the front door while saying "bye" and "cya" to her parents one last time.
"Ok" she thought to herself once she was finally outside. "Let's do this".

Hey guys!!! So yep guess i started a new story heh..
How are you liking it so far?? I tried to make it as long as possible for you guys coz i know it's disappointing to have really short chapters.. So it might not be super long but it's still over 1000 words so take it ok?? xdd
This story is gonna be a bit different from my last one, one of the reasons being i didn't dream this one up, and i'll also try to make this one longer than 3 chapters.
It's my first time writing like this as well, since i'm not getting straight to the point.. i'm gonna be taking it hella slow (well.. i'll try) and i've never done that before so don't expect this to be a masterpiece.
I never know what to write here shite... Don't forget to follow me and vote for this story <3
Next chapter will be about Veronica, and i'm gonna be doing it in that order all throughout the story. So this one was sorta in Betty's POV, and next one will be in Ronnie's POV (point of view). So look forward to that!!
I LOVE YOU GUYS <3
