They stayed like they were all night, lying together in what was the best night's sleep they'd ever had. Sure, the positions could have been more comfortable, but neither of them had ever slept so well.
It was now 8am in the little town of Riverdale, and the sun was still rising. The sky was a deep orange colour, with a few clouds dotted here an there shaded with red. The wind was blowing the leaves around softly, and the birds were slowly waking up from their slumber. It was a peaceful morning.
Sunlight was slowly creeping into Veronica's room through the big window, going over Betty's face on it's way.
Her eyes opened gently and she smiled at the beautiful morning. When her eyes were fully open she looked around and realised that she hadn't gotten into her pyjamas the night before, and that she was sitting upwards. Then, she noticed that the tv was still on with netflix opened. Friends wasn't playing anymore.
"Shit" She whispered to herself.
Just as she was about to get up to turn it off, she felt something move on her shoulder. When she slowly turned around to investigate, she found Veronica resting on it in a tranquil sleep. She smiled. "She's so cute when she's sleeping", she thought to herself as her smiled widened a bit. She kept looking at her friend lying there, admiring her facial features as she noticed things she hadn't before; like the fact that her lips looked like soft pillow mountains and how her hair shined in the light of the morning sun.
Soon enough, Veronica woke up herself. She smiled to herself at the comfort of her pillow, and gently opened her eyes to see where she was. The sunlight prevented her from fully opening them, in fact you couldn't tell they were open at all, but everything was slowly going into focus.
"Are you staring at me Betsikins?" She said in a tired voice, her eyes finally managing to open more.
Betty's face shot to the side as she pretended she wasn't and blushed. Hard.
"W-what?? N-No not at a-all.." She blushed again.
Veronica, noticing Betty's weird behaviour, lifted her head up a bit. Realising that Betty had in fact been staring, she also looked away to hide her ever increasing blush.
The pair attempted to laugh it off, but to no avail. Shit, they thought, things are awkward.
Veronica soon got up and patted herself down, attempting to remove the creases in her clothes.
"Well then" She said in a semi-confident tone. "We should probably get ready for school."
"R-right yeah" Betty got up at her turn, taking a deep breath while attempting to stop her blush. "What time is it? I didn't hear an alarm."
Veronica looked over at her night stand and her eyes shot open.
"SHIT BETTY IT'S 8:10 WE'RE GONNA BE LATE FOR SCHOOL"
Betty's face went white.
"WAIT WHAT HOW WHAT DIDN'T YOUR ALARM GO OFF OHMYGOD"
"NO I DON'T KNOW AHH IT DOESN'T MATTER RIGHT NOW LET'S GET READY"
In a panic, Veronica ran to her wardrobe and threw her shirt off, leaving her in her bra.
Betty face went a deep shade of red as she spun around fast in embarassment. When Veronica realised the state she was in, she blushed too. Shit, she thought, well that's embarassing.
"Right well uh *clears throat*... Shit.. V i don't have any clothes..." Betty was still facing away from Veronica as she spoke, covering her face with her hands.
