The week had gone by slowly but surely, and it was now Friday. The gang were hanging out at the lockers before school as usual, talking about how boring their classes were and how they'd kill to be at Pop's right now drinking milkshakes. It was a sunny day in Riverdale this morning, and the hallways were buzzing with the sound of unhappy teenagers hanging and talking with their cliques. Everything was pretty normal so far.

Suddenly, as if out of the blue, Cheryl turned up with her two minions by her side at the end of the hallway. Everything grew quieter as she started walking to her locker like a model. It was like a scene out of a movie, with the mean girl squad walking in slow motion as the girls watched with envy and the boys watched with fascination.

The gang weren't so impressed, especially Betty and Veronica. Being in the cheerleading squad with Cheryl had given them a new perspective on things, and now they knew how much of a snake she was. Seeing her whole cool act didn't affect them in the least, in fact, it made them pity her. Couldn't she just drop the act and at least try to be a good person? Just the fact that she had minions in the first placed proved how manipulative she could be.

Cheryl was the daughter of the richest people in town: the Blossoms. They had made their money in the maple industry and with that money came an ever growing greed. She was spoiled and she knew it, but she always wanted more. Her parents trusted her with money so they weren't technically buying her anything, she was just treating herself. But with that, she became less and less grateful for what she had, and you know.. it also made her think that she was better than everyone else just because she had money. But in a family that has everything, they become good at hiding what they don't want to be seen. They were actually really sketchy people... Didn't want to invite them to a dinner party for example. If she had been a good person once, she sure as hell wasn't anymore. Everyone despised her, but she was popular and threw good parties, so they just put up with her.

The gang assumed she'd just walk past them like she did every other day, so they just went back to their conversations and payed no more attention to her.

*COUGH*

They jumped.

ugh what do you want? They all thought to themselves as they slowly turned to face her while eye rolling.

-"Hello Betty" She said with an innocent but challenging tone.

-"What do you want Cheryl?" Veronica cut in, she really didn't want to deal with her right now. The day had just started couldn't she just leave them alone?

Cheryl turned to Veronica and glared at her.

-"Is your dad still in jail Veronica? You should know that i don't talk to the daughters of criminals. Now shut up and let the adults talk please" Cheryl answered with a condescending smirk before turning back to Betty. "I'm having a party tonight, and you're invited. It'll be at my place at 9pm, and i would highly suggest going. Everyone is gonna be there". Just as she was walking away, she turned around and quickly added "you can invite them (saying "them" in an overly disgusted tone) if you want, i don't really care anyway" And with a satisfied scoff, she left.

Betty eye rolled so hard she swore she saw her brain. Who the fuck does she think she is?

-"I think we should go" Veronica said, to everyone's surprise.

-"What? She just humiliated you in front of all her minions and you want to go to her party?? Are you feeling ok V? Let me see if you have a fever.." Betty said, astounded that Veronica would even THINK about going to that's snake's party.

-"Who cares? It's a party and as much as i hate to admit it, she does throw some pretty good parties. Besides, i wouldn't be me if i missed a party now would i?" she said with a smirk.

-"Let's do it, i haven't been to a good party in ages." Kevin said with a smile. "Besides if we don't go, she's probably gonna go without us and that would be worse".

-"You're right, let's just do this and have fun. This week was hell" Archie added.

-"Uuuuhhh count me out on that one guys. I'm not huge on parties", Jughead said disgustedly.

-"Uhm i don't think so Jug" Betty said with a mischievous look in her eye. "You know i'm gonna drag you to that party myself if i have to. You are not missing out on this. If it's a disaster, we experience it all together. That's the rule."

Jughead gave up and sighed a "fine" with a beaten expression on his face but smiling nonetheless. He actually secretly enjoyed parties, but he wasn't going to tell them that. He wanted to continue being the cool guy in their eyes. So for now, he'd keep pretending that he didn't like them. It was fun to see everyone "forcing" him too do all these things that he actually enjoyed doing, plus he loved seeing their satisfied smiles after they managed to do something that they thought was an accomplishment. It was cute, really.

They soon all went back to talking, with the subject changing to what they'd wear and how they'd get there. Well, Betty and Veronica were talking about what they were going to wear, and the boys were talking about how they'd get there. They decided that Veronica was going to go to Betty's place after school to help her with her outfit (it wasn't that Betty's clothes weren't fit for a party... It was just that Betty's clothes weren't really fit for a party.. according to Veronica anyway). The boys would come pick them up from Betty's place at 8 and they'd all get to the party together in the same car. At first they wanted to have Betty go with Juggie and Veronica go with Archikins and Kevin would just join one of them, but he really didn't want to awkwardly thirdwheel either of them so they decided to all go together.

The day became much more exciting, since they no longer were focusing on school but the party they were gonna attend. As much as they hated to admit it, they were all pretty excited about it. It was a good way to distract themselves from the horrors of school, so why wouldn't they be?

The reason they shouldn't be is something they were about to find out, because little did they know, the party would bring some unexpected changes to the group.
