Betty's mind was whirling. All the events from the last 48 hours kept replaying in her mind like a nightmare she couldn't shake, and all she could do was run. She ran down the hospital hallways and down the stairs, avoiding the elevator to keep herself busy.

The entrance of the hospital was busier than usual as people rushed in to hide from the newly-formed storm. Most people weren't actually sick, but decided it was best to sit the storm out in a warm and relatively safe environment. They were everywhere; huddled in corners, on the different chairs scattered around the lobby, at the desk trying to flirt with the nurses and even sitting patiently on the ground while people tried not to step on them. Everything was a mess, but the atmosphere of the room was relatively calm.

Betty on the other hand couldn't wait to get out. Her mind was still racing, and at this point she didn't care if it was raining or not; she just had to get out.

She wanted to scream. Vent. Whatever you want to call it. She kept on thinking; she couldn't talk to Veronica, that nightmare was still haunting her and she couldn't face her after the kiss. What about Archie? No. She couldn't possibly tell him about the kiss her and Veronica shared - they had JUST broken up. What was she supposed to tell him? "Oh hey, I really need to talk to you because your ex and I kissed right after you broke up and I don't know what to think".. Yeah, that wasn't going to happen. And Jughead was the absolute last person she wanted to talk to right now so he was definitely out of the picture... Which left Kevin. Yes! Kevin! He'd know what to say.

And with that she made up her mind, giving a direction to her running. The rain wasn't nearly as bad as the storm in her mind, so she kept going. Up the streets and down the roads, all she could do was run; she knew exactly where she was headed and shifted all her focus to that.

20 minutes of running later, she arrived at the house. She knew it all too well from all the sleepovers they'd had, and the familiarity of it brought a little bit of comfort to her heart. Only a little.

So she walked up to the door slowly, suddenly realising how soaked and out of breath she was. Her chest was hurting and her clothes felt heavy, but she was desperate to keep her thoughts as far away as she could to the front of her mind.

Having rung the doorbell, she waited. It wasn't long before Kevin opened the door, his face shifting from a warm smile to a look of pure shock.

"BETTY?! What the hell are you doing out there?! Get in here oh my god you're soaked!"

Betty looked at him, not knowing quite what to say. Her mind was still buzzing with the thoughts she was trying so hard to keep quiet.

She walked in the house, a feeling of numbness suddenly taking over. Kevin helped her take her coat off before running to the living room to get her a towel.

Meanwhile, Betty took off her shoes and stood in the hallway. She couldn't think clearly and didn't know where to go.

It wasn't long before Kevin came back with a warm blanket and a towel.

"I have some spare clothes you left at my house from our sleepovers. Go get changed and dry your hair with the towel" He said as he handed it to her. He moved to the side, showing a path to the staircase up to his room.

Betty walked slowly, feeling guilty about the trail of rain water she was leaving behind her with every step. When she got to his room, she closed the door and got changed. Her mind was on autopilot as she got undressed, finding and putting on her clothes that she thought she'd lost.

"So that's where that shirt went" She thought with a soft, almost sad chuckle.

After having dried her hair as much as she had the energy to, she made her way back downstairs. She walked into the living room where she found Kevin sitting on the couch, a look of pure concern plastered on his face.
