Veronica's eyes slowly opened as she heard the sound of Betty's phone ringing beside her. As she looked around with her tired eyes, she saw the sky slowly getting lighter with the morning sun and heard the birds singing their usual song.

After having taken in her surroundings, she realised she was lying comfortably in Betty's arms. She both smiled and blushed as she remembered the events from the day before, making her heart flutter with butterflies.

"Betty?" She said softly as she looked up at her sleeping friend. She couldn't help but smile more at that sight, thinking about how adorable and peaceful she looked.

She gently placed her hand on Betty's cheek.

"Hey Betty wake up, your alarm went off"

"Hnnnggg" Betty grunted in response as she turned over to her side.

Veronica smiled.

"Betty if you don't wake up right now I won't buy you chicken nuggets"

Suddenly, Betty's eyes shot open as she tried to get up, eventually giving up and stumbling back onto her back.

"Yes hello good morning what" She said, trying to keep her eyes from closing.

Veronica eye rolled, but a smile was still plastered on her face.

"I can't believe you" She laughed. "Get ready we have school today"

Betty grunted as she crunched her eyebrows.

"I don't wanna gooooo" She whined as she pulled Veronica in closer.

"Yeah me neither loser but we have to" Veronica smiled. "Besides, I think we've skipped a few too many days"

Betty laughed.

"Fair point"

They both laughed, trying to ignore (but enjoying) how close they were.

Betty proceeded to sit up and admire the view in front of her. Although she'd come to the hill before, the view never ceased to amaze her.

"Ok well you said my alarm went off so it's 6:30am, which means I should probably drii-" She paused and her eyes widened.

"What??" Veronica asked, confused.

"Fuck"

"What????"

"I took the car last night in secret, thinking i'd bring it home before my parents arrived.... Fuck"

"Fuck"

"Well" She said in a hopeful tone, looking at Veronica. "Guess i'll get murdered by my parents woops. Anyways I should drive you home"

The pair laughed as they got up and looked out at the town one last time, taking it all in before they brought everything back down to the car. Betty couldn't quite explain it, but being here with Veronica made the view feel so much more beautiful.

Neither of them wanted to leave this place, but unfortunately school existed so they had to go.

"Betty.." Veronica said as she looked out the car window on their drive home.

"Yeah?" Betty answered, only daring to look away from the road for a split second to look at her friend.

"I really had an amazing time yesterday" She smiled. "I've never seen anything so beautiful.. Well except you" She winked, making them both laugh. "No but seriously Bets, it was perfect. Thank you" She looked over at Betty with a warm smile.

Betty smiled to herself as her cheeks got warmer; she was so nervous about the day before, with the fight and all, so seeing Veronica respond this way made her happier than ever.
