So here it was. The day everyone had been dreading for 3 months: the first day of school. It was 7:50am in the sunny town of Riverdale, and the horde of sleep deprived and demoralized students was spilling into the school like zombies.

Betty was one of the first to arrive, as usual, and she waited by her locker for her friends to come. The first person she saw was Veronica (her best friend), and as soon as they saw each other they screamed and ran into each others arms like the two completely crazy teenage girls that they were, smiling like idiots while telling each other how much they missed the other person. This was something they had done every year since becoming friends, and every year they got weird looks from everyone around them for doing it. But, neither of them cared. The holidays were over and they hadn't seen each other in like 2 days, they deserved to be crazy.

Then Jughead arrived, looking tired and despaired as usual. Upon seeing Betty, he snuck up on her from behind and grabbed her by her waist, giving her a tight hug. This, although it was super sweet, did make Betty a little uncomfortable.. But she had never told him that; it made him happy so she just had to put up with it. He started telling her how much he missed her, to which she answered that she missed him too but it had only been 3 days. She didn't mean it in a mean way, she laughed the entire time, but still.. Sometimes he was a little clingy.

The third to arrive was the one and only Kevin, who, as soon as he saw them from across the hallway, screamed and ran up to them. When Betty and Veronica heard that all too familiar screech, they turned around and prepared for the biggest (and loudest) hug ever. Soon enough, they were all screaming and telling each other that they missed each other "soooooooooo" much. In the background, Jughead was covering his ears and cringeing every time one of them squealed again. Damn, he thought, how can their voices even go that high?!

Meanwhile, Archie had arrived and was observing the scene from afar, deciding not to approach to protect his ears. It both scared him and made him laugh, but he still wasn't going anywhere near them. No one approached them actually; they had a 3 metre radius around them where no one dared impede for fear of going deaf. When he saw Jughead, he went up to him and gave him a slightly awkward bro hug, telling him that "it's been too long man" and asking him what was new.

When the trio had finally stopped their whaling, they all stopped to catch a breath while laughing their heads off (making it very difficult to catch a breath), before returning to the two boys who were patiently waiting at the lockers for them. Veronica immediately ran up to Archie and gave him a tight hug and a peck on the mouth while messing up his hair (which she did all the time, it was surprisingly fun actually.. well not for him but for her yeah). Everyone was there.

-"Well that was uuh... interesting" Jughead remarked with petrified eyes. He would never get used to seeing his girlfriend act like a total psycho.

-"Oh lighten up Juggie, it only lasted like 10 seconds" Veronica answered while laughing and glancing at Betty, who glanced back with a huge smile on her face.

-"Uh... it actually lasted a full 3 minutes guys. How do you still have voices?!" Archie said, glancing over at Jughead with a scared expression on his face. He'd never get used to it either.

-"Wait what?!" The trio asked, astonished. "Welp shit... Can you blame us though?? This is the last time we'll ever get to do this.. We were just making the most of it while we still could." Said Betty, with a slight tone of nostalgia in her voice. Everyone went quiet for a minute as they reminisced the last few years. They were really going to miss this.. Not school in itself, but the fun times they'd spent getting in trouble with teachers and the funny conversations they'd had at lunch about how ridiuclous Cheryl was and how bad the teachers were. No matter how annoying school was, they made it more liveable for each other... and they were really gonna miss that.
