CHAPTER FIFTEEN
"The silly twat could have died."

"You gonna tell us, what your idea is?" Marley asked Betty as she quickly walked besides her and Jughead into the library.

"I think I know how to decode the cipher. When I was younger I used to check out this book obsessively," Betty said she walked down an aisle at the library looking for a specific book. She stopped and quickly pulled out the book and Marley read the title over her shoulder.

"The Nancy Drew secret code," Marley read and Betty nodded before walking towards a nearby table and pulling out a pen and paper.

Jughead and Marley watched as Betty quickly figured out the cipher. Once she was done she let it a breath and put her pen down.

"I will strike next where it all began," Betty said reading out loud and Marley furrowed her eyebrows.

"It's either the school, where Betty released her article or at Town Hall," Marley said while biting her lip and Jughead sighed.

"I don't think it's the school. It's eight pm no one is there," Jughead said and Betty nodded.

"Nearly the whole town is at Town Hall right this moment," Betty said and Marley nodded before grabbing Betty's hand.

"Let's go," Marley said and they all walked out of the library and rushed to Town Hall.

Marley, Jughead and Betty both ran into town hall soaking wet due to the rain.

"Everybody needs to leave now!" Betty shouted and everyone turned to look at the three teens. Gina quickly stood up and looked at them.

"Marley, what is going on?" Gina asked and before Marley could reply Jughead spoke.

"The Black Hood is coming here. He said this is his next target," Jughead said loudly causing everyone in Town Hall to talk amongst themselves.

"What do you mean he's coming here?" Alice asked them standing up next to her husband and Marley pushed a strand of hair out of her face.

"Exactly that, Alice," Marley said and Gina walked towards her and grabbed her hand. Before Gina could talk to her niece the power went out causing everyone to gasp.

"This isn't creepy at all. This is it, this is how we die," Marley said and Gina swatted her niece on the arm.

"Everyone, stay calm and in your seats. We'll sort this out," Mayor McCoy said trying to calm everyone down. Marley made eye contact with Betty and nodded her head towards the fire alarm. Betty nodded before quickly walking over and pulling the fire alarm causing everyone to stand up and make their way out of Town Hall.

Alice quickly grabbed Betty's arm and Gina grabbed both Jughead's and Marley's and started to lead them outside.

"Yeah this isn't over, get in the car," Alice said to the three teens as she walked them over to her car. The three of them got in and Alice looked at Gina who just sighed.

"Betty, you know you have to tell your parents now," Jughead said to Betty, the three of them sitting in the backseat of Alice Cooper's car, as she stood outside and talked to Marley's aunt, The Mayor and Sheriff Keller, and Betty nodded.

Jughead, Marley and Betty were all sitting on the couch in Betty's House while Betty's parents and Gina and Sheriff Keller and Mayor McCoy stood in front of them.
