CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

"Almighty Serpent King,"

"You look nice today," Elijah observed as Marley walked towards him in the school hallway and Marley playfully rolled her eyes. She was wearing a black denim skirt and a oversized burgandy jumper and her dark red doc martins.

"I'm dressed like this all the time and my jumper has a coffee stain on this," Marley said and Elijah shook his head before closing his locker.

"It's not your outfit. It's your hair and.. you are wearing makeup?"Elijah asked and Marley rolled her eyes at him again.

"I'm wearing some mascara and eyeliner. Shoot me, and I decided to do something with my hair," Marley said while touching the end of her braid. Elijah smiled before gently tugging the end of her braid.

"You look good bubbles,"Elijah complimented and Marley's cheeks turned a shade of pink but she just rolled her eyes. The bell rang and Marley popped her gum.

"We just gonna stand here and stare at each other or head to the library for free period?" Marley asked and Elijah smiled before the both started to make their way to the library. 

The pair of them walked around the corner and saw Cheryl, Reggie and the rest of the football team and cheerleaders standing opposite a group of serpents, including Toni and Jughead. 

"I knew this would happen but I didn't expect it to happen so early in the day, fuck me," Elijah muttered and Marley chuckled. 

"Ah, Marley, just on time. Which side do you pick? Stand with us or these Southside scum?" Reggie asked and his eyes fell on Marley and Marley rolled her eyes before glancing and Elijah. Marley shot Jughead and Toni a smile before looking at Reggie. 

"You guys are really doing this Northside vs Southside nonsense? You're here 8:30 to 3pm it's not that serious, get over yourself, Reg," Marley said while walking passed them Elijah by her side and Reggie rolled his eyes. 

"Traitor!" Cheryl shouted and Marley laughed before turning around. 

"I don't like this school enough to start fighting over territory, but go off," Marley said before turning back around and Elijah laughed before playfully nudging her.

Marley walked into the student lounge at lunch time and saw Josie and Veronica introducing themselves to the Serpents and rolled her eyes before walking over to them. 

"Oh, like the purple coloured gemstone. Love it," Veronica said in response to Toni introducing herself and Marley laughed.

"You're doing too much, Ronnie," Marley said and Veronica, Jughead and the rest of the serpents turned to look at her and Veronica just smiled. 

"I'm not, We are just introducing ourselves to our new fellow students," Veronica said and Marley playfully scoffed before nodding. 

"I think they'd much rather be alone," Marley said while walking over to jughead and taking the packet of chips from him and popping one in her mouth. Veronica rolled her eyes before putting a hand on Marley's shoulder.

"This is Marley Rose Davis," Veronica said introducing her and Sweatpea scoffed before nodding. 

"We know," He said and Veronica looked at Marley and Marley just nodded before handing Jughead back his packet of chips. Before anyone could reply Josie spoke. 

"And I'm Josie McCoy, formally of the pussycats. Now just Josie," Josie said sadly while looking down at her shoes before looking up at pointing at Dakota who just walked through the door.
