CHAPTER FORTY-SIX

"Don't make me drown Veronica right here in this tub."

Jughead, Marley, Veronica and Archie arrived at Veronica's lodge. they all got out of the car and marvelled at the view. 

"When I was younger we used to come here every summer whenever my dad could sneak away for a weekend," Veronica said while looking at the lodge.

"Betty would've loved this, its beautiful," Marley said and jughead out his hand on the small of her back. 

"Veronica wasn't kidding. It really was the last house on the left," Jughead said while looking at the house and Marley nodded before taking his hand. 

"Marls, wait till you see the inside," Veronica said before taking marly's arm and walking toward the house with her. veronica opened the front door and let everyone in and marley's eyes widened.

"Its so pretty," Marley said in awe and Veronica chuckled before nodding. 

"Welcome to what I humbly like to call Lodge Lodge," Veronica said causing everyone to chuckle.   Jughead's phone started to ring and he left the house to answer the phone.

"I'm honestly so sad that Betty isn't here," Veronica said and Marley sighed before nodding in agreement.

"Yeah. But I'm assuming you have super fast wifi here. we will FaceTime her." Marley said while popping her gum and Veronica nodded in agreement. Marley put down her bag before walking out of the house to see her boyfriend. 

"Jug, who was it?" Marley asked and jughead put down his phone and looked at her.

"It was Cheryl. She told me that you were with Elijah last night at Pops. Why?" Jughead asked and Marley looked down at her feet before shrugging. 

"You were with Elijah? after everything that happened?" Archie chimed in and Marley shot him a look before looking back at Jughead. 

"It not as bad as it sounds. We didn't have milkshakes or anything," Marley said and Jughead scoffed before walking into the Lodge and up to the bedroom where he and Marley were meant to be staying. Marley groaned before following after him. 

"Jughead, why are you so angry?" Marley asked as she walked into the bedroom and shut the door behind her and jughead just ignored her.

"Do you want the top or bottom draw?" Jughead asked and Marley groaned before standing infront of him. 

"Jughead, don't do this. Why are you-" Marley asked before jughead interrupted her.

"You promised me that you won't talk to Elijah. I believed you, so why did you go and meet him at Pop's?" Jughead asked and Marley sighed before pushing a curl out of her face. 

"Elijah has been helping me find information about Liam and about the kid my aunt had with my dad. I met him at Pop's because he said he had information for me. Then we got into a massive fight and I said something I shouldn't have and I think he is hiding something big from me because of what I said. Something that will not only just effect me, but my aunt too,"Marley explained at Jughead sighed before sitting down next to her.

"Why didn't you tell me about you and Elijah working together? or about your aunts child?" Jughead asked and Marley shrugged. 

"You've been so busy, you know? with the expose you're working on," Marley said and Jughead sighed before shaking his head.

"I always have time for you, Marley. Just promise me you won't meet him in private again," Jughead said while interlocking his fingers with marly's as she smiled slightly before nodding. Just as Jughead was leaning in the pair of them heard the sound of the bed squeezing and shot each other a look of disbelief.
