Courtney's POV
I woke up in the hospital. I was wearing the hospital gown, and there was a pounding on my leg. I looked around to see if there was anyone next to me, there was. Danielle. She was hooked up to a bunch of wires that monitored her heart rate. Her eyes were closed, as if she was peacefully sleeping. Her ombre hair neatly pulled away from her face. She must've been unconcious, I tried to pick myself up, and noticed that my arm was wrapped up. The memory of the crash played through my head millions of times. Nash was behind us, and rear ended us. Then, someone slammed into the driver side since we were stuck in the middle of traffic. All I remember is the piercing sound of the glass breaking against her head. She slipped through the seatbelt. I slowly got up, and walked over to her, and noticed a bunch of bruises all over her fragile body. She was resting peacefully, I hope she wakes up. I sat down next to her, and noticed that the seatbelt left a burn on her skin. She didn't look like herself. She looked weak. I leaned over to her and grabbed her hand.
"Danielle, if you can hear me, please wake up soon. Stay here, I can't imagine having a world without you in it. Please come back," I said softly. I felt tears roll down my cheeks. I heard footsteps walk coming toward our hospital room and quickly jumped back into bed. The nurse walked in to the room carring a clipboard, she looked older. Her plain white hair slicked back into a ponytail, and her makeup almost looked as if a clown did it.
"How is she?" I asked. I tried to hold back my tears, I can't let anyone see me cry. I'm known for being the strong one, but even the strongest have their weak points.
"She's not to good. If she wakes up, she won't remember anything," the nurse said shaking her head. Her bright pink lips pursed together, and she walked over to look over Danielle, and changed the bandage on her head.
"Do you think she'll wake up? Honestly?" I begged, I hope she knows the answer. I can't lose my best friend.
"I would be surprised if she didn't, but it will take a few days," she said through a small convincing smile. I let out a deep breath loudly. I feel as if a large weight lifted off of my chest. I quickly looked over at my phone, I got a bunch of text messages from Cameron since Danielle can't answer. He has no idea. I went to sit up in the bed, and the nurse finished wrapping Danielle's head.
"You're free to go," she said through a smile. I quickly got up. I realized that all I had was the hospital gown, or my bloody dance clothes. I grabbed my phone and called Cameron.
"Courtney, what's going on? Danielle didn't answer my messages," Cameron said. I heard the anger rage through his voice.
"Cameron, we got into an accident. She's unconcious right now, and they think she'll wake up, but not soon," I said through tears. He quickly became silent, I thought he hung up. "Hello? Did you hear me?" I asked.
"Yeah, I heard you. I'm going to the hospital now," he said. I could tell in his voice that he was upset. I walked to the small couch in the room, and I noticed two piles of clothes on the end table. There was a note attached. 'I'm sorry about what happened, here are some clothes for you girls,' there was no name on the note. I got dressed into the pair of yoga pants and tshirt. I heard loud foot steps through the hallway, and Cameron ran into our room. He looked at me, his eyes red and swelled from crying so much. He was wearing sweatpants, a tshirt, and two different shoes. I ran over to him and give him a hug.
"Cameron, she'll be okay. The nurse said that she should wake up," I said. He pulled away quickly and ran over to her. He grabbed her hand, and I watched his reaction. His face buried into the hospital sheets. I heard his sobs, they were loud, almost as if he was screaming. I went to the bathroom so that he had time alone with her.
Cameron's POV
I looked down at her, she was covered in bruises, scratches, and burns. Her head was neatly wrapped, and her eyes were closed. She looked so peaceful so calm, but inside I wanted to punch the wall. Anger and sadness raged through me, I felt it boil inside. I can't lose her, she means everything to me. The tears poured down my face, I wish this was just a night mare, but its not. Its the real world, and in the real world we can't get what we want. There's always complications when ever something works out well. But this one, this one, is just to much for me to handle. I sat down on her bed, holding her hand gentely. It was warm still, I kissed her hand, and sat there thinking of everything we've been through together. Everything has been worth it. If she does wake up, I will always stay by her, I can't have this happen anymore. If she wakes up, I will love her evern more then I already to (if that's even possible). If she wakes up, I can never let her easily slip through my fingers, not again. I feel as if someone stabbed me right in the heart. On the inside, I just wanna scream, scream at the world for doing this to her. I tried to calm myself down. I looked back at her, she looks weak but painless at the same time. I gently kissed her cheek, and sat back on to the uncomfortable bed. Then I finally spoke to her.
"I can't live without you. You mean everything to me, and I promise you that this will never happen again. Please come back to me. I love you more then anything I've ever loved before. Please baby, please stay with me here. You belong here with me," I said through tears. I glanced at her face. I can no longer see those big brown eyes anymore. My eyes shifted down to the curve of her lips, they were pink, and pressed together. She looked pale, and she wasn't the Danielle I fell in love with months ago, but either way I will always love her, no matter what she looks like. I need her here with me.
