"Do you think he'll take him away?" I asked Cameron, I handed him the phone. I felt tears build up in my eyes as I watched him read the message over, and over again. Letting the words sink into his mind.
"Why don't we just let him meet Nathan, at a public place. That way we won't have to worry," Cameron suggested. It was brillant, we wouldn't have to worry about him doing anything bad.
"That's an awesome idea, answer him," I insisted. He smiled and typed the message on to my phone. I looked over at the clock, then I realized that Sara and Aaron were arriving soon.
"Do we need to pick up Sara and Aaron?" I asked.
"Um, I don't think so, I thought they were gonna take a cab or something," Cameron answered. I heard a knock at the door.
"I'll get it!" Courtney yelled, as I heard her loud foot steps in the hallway. I heard the front door squeek open. Cameron and I got out of bed, and walked over to them.
"Hi, where is he?" Sara asked.
"He's napping right now," I said easily. I looked out the window, and noticed the day was just dragging. It felt like hours went by, by the sun was still shining bright. I heard Nathan's faint cry, and I ran over to him. Lifting him gently, and his cry faded away. When ever I have him in my arms, he stops crying. I smile down at him, and kissed his forehead.
"He's beautiful," Sara said as she walked over and took a glimpse of him. I heard her gasp, when his eyes open.
"Yeah I know," I said before she said something else. I noticed Aaron slyly walk over to look at Nathan.
"His eyes are.. blue," he mentioned.
"I'm well aware of that," I said with an attitude. I didn't mean to be well mean, but wouldn't he think I'd obviously know that by now.
"Cameron, you don't have blue eyes," he said looking over at him.
"I know," he said easily.
"So is this baby Nash's?" he asked. The name tearing open all the old wounds. The name that made me cringe, just thinking about him. The reason I'm scared of leaving Nathan from my side.
"Aaron, please.. stop," Sara said softly, touching his shoulder delicately, so that he would stop talking.
"I'm sorry," he said easily.
"It's fine," I answered back. I looked over at him, he was just playing on his phone. Then, I looked back over at Cameron, he looked hurt.
"So when are you going home?" I asked. "Not that I'm trying to get rid of you," I added.
"We're leaving tomorrow," she answered easily.
"Okay, I think Cameron and I will go back with you guys, I need to visit my parents," I mentioned. I smiled down at Nathan, his eyes opened wider, and his small fingers wrapped around my pinky finger. I heard my phone go off, it was in Cameron's pocket.
"Can you hold him real quick?" I asked Courtney. She nodded, and took him from me, Cameron and I walked back to our room so we could talk privately.
*Ok, I'm waiting at the park.* Cameron read the message out loud.
"Alright, I guess we should go, but before we leave I need to ask you something," I said softly. I walked closer to him, and intertwined my fingers through his.
"What is it princess?" he asked concerned.
"Are you okay with, you know, Nathan, and Nash being his biological father?" I asked softly. I didn't know how else to ask the question.
"Well, I'm not ecstatic about it, but I love him, and I love you. We're a family, no matter what," his voice turning almost to a whisper.
"I'm so lucky to have you in my life," I answered back immediatley. I felt him lean closer to me, our faces almost touching.
"No, I am," he whispered back. His lips inches away from touching. A small smile crawled on to my face, just before he kissed me. I pulled away when I realized that we needed to go to the park.
"We have to go to the park now," I insisted.
Aaron's POV
I looked down at the message that just came in.
*Did you see him yet?* I read the message from Nash.
*Yeah, he looks exactly like you.* I sent the message back to him. The thing is, I don't actually like Nash. Not at all, because of what he did to Sara, but I hate the fact that Danielle was so irresposible and was pregnant off of it. She even dropped out of school, to take care of him, ruining her own life for her kid. I mean, I get it, but she shouldn't drag down Cameron with her. Because, if I was him, I wouldn't stick around. Nathan needs to be with his own dad. I didn't get a message after that.
"Who are you texting?" Sara asked.
"I was just checking in with my parents," I said easily. I didn't want her to think anything is wrong. I love her to much.
"Okay, tell them I said hi," she said through a smile.
"Ok, I will," I answered back, then I actually did text my parents.
Danielle's POV
"Where are you two going?" Courtney asked.
"Um, we're going to the park for a little bit," I said easily. Courtney handed over Nathan, and Cameron and I walked through the front door.
After a few minutes, we arrived at the park. I scanned through the area to find Nash, then I found him, sitting on a bench.
"Hi," I said nervously as I sat next to him.
"What's his name?" he asked looking down at him, then he noticed that they had the same bright blue eyes. He smiled down at him, and took him from my arms.
"Nathan," I said easily.
"That's a cute name. He's very handsome," he said softly as he looked down at him, kissing him in the same spot I always do.
"Yeah he is," I said through a smile. This is the very first time I could see that he's being normal.
"He must get that from me," he said through a laugh. I didn't answer, I didn't want to ruin the moment by saying something rude.
"Hi there, I'm your daddy," he said in a baby voice. Then I noticed Nathan start smiling, he didn't have teeth yet, so it was all gums, but it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. "I think he likes me,"
"I think so too," I said through a smile. Cameron sat there quietly.
"Thank you for letting me see him," he said looking at me. His blue eyes staring into my dark ones.
"You're welcome," I said easily. I'm in shock by how sweet he is around Nathan.
"I have to go now, but I want to be in his life," he said.
"Okay," is all I was able to get out. He handed Nathan over to me and walked away. I watched him disappear in the distance.
"What the fuck was that?" Cameron asked through a laugh.
"I don't know," I said as I nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck. I felt the same warm smile crawl on to my face.
"Let's go home," he said as he got up, and helped me up off the bench.
Aaron's POV
*I just saw him, let me know when you see him again.* I read the message to myself.
*I will.* I typed the two small words, and sent them to him.
