Chapter 2

With sonic defeated Eggman army quickly took over. Within months all but a few isolated areas in the world were under their control. Despite the overwhelming odds a rag tag resistance formed banding together to continue the fight. And now, a new face prepares to join the struggle.

As the steel doors open Vector walked in hold his head looking exhausted.

''Eggman's army is unstoppable, without sonic the people are losing hope and giving in to despair.''

''Despair is the luxury we don't have.'' silver spoke up.

Amy looks to her left and puts her right hand over her heart. '' I dream that sonic is with us, do you think he might be ?''. . . you walk over to Amy's side and grab her hand, holding it tight. ''I'm an optimist, but i'm also a realist. Sonic is gone Amy, and Tails is... and Tails has just lost it. He said with sadness in his voice.

''If we want to win this,we have to do this without them.''

''Silver's right,'' espio  steps in. He walks closer  to the table and lightly slams his palms on the cold steel table. '' We've been hoping for a miracle these past 6 months, but i'm afraid we have to make our own miracle.'' he motivated the team lifting everyone's spirits.

''Eggman's army has everyone terrified, if we want the people to rally we have to show them that strength doesn't just come from numbers.''

''Not everyone is terrified, isn't there a new recruit  joining us today?'' Charmy asked. 

''Yes. '' he answer. '' A survivor  from the city right?'' he asked. You look towards Amy and l  let go of her hand. She sets her finger tips on the keyboard in  front of her. '' I'm accessing the file now.'' Pressing a few buttons. Charmy flies over to look at the computer screen. you smile and moved back allowing him to see.

A few minutes later after all of you looked through the new recruit's files knuckles walks in.

''knuckles, what's the situation commander?"

''Happy to see that your all still alive, Eggman's forces chewed through our defenses in green hill. ''The system in the city report that what ever finished sonic,... sorry, I'm still not used to saying that , what ever it is has them running in fear. 

''All except this brave kid", who survived the battle and made it hear in one piece." "meet our newest recruit ," knuckles finished. while giving the new recruit a pat on the back. as the rookie stood straight again you and Charmy went over to him. 

"hmm he doesnt look like much."

"neither do you Charmy but i still find use for your pointy butt."

"tehee" Charmy looked away blushing and giggling. you bend over to get a better look at the new recruit, and you smile at him with your cute face causing him to blush.

''well i think he's gonna do great." you said in confidence making him blush even more.

(Y/N) easy, you don't wanna kill him before his first mission, look he's gonna blush to death. Knuckles pointed out while crossing his arms. The rookie  turned to knuckles and nodded his head disagreeing with the fact that he was blushing. 

''Mhmm.'' knuckles didn't seem convinced that he wasn't blushing. 

'' Hehe, welcome to the team''. You reach out your hand to shake his. He reaches out and takes your hand and gives a firm handshake. 

''Anyway, here kid take this .'' knuckles leans over and grabs one of the weapons they have stored for these occasions. He then hands the weapon to the new recruit. '' Were depending on you.'' The new recruit  reaches out his hand and takes the weapon.

''Ok, let's get going everybody the world is not gonna save itself. 

                                                                                 ''YA!''
