Chapter 14

We finally arrive at our hideout with the others. " Things were going well with Operation big wave, but then everything fizzled out  when that phantom ruby kicked in." 

You sat in a corner while Amy cleaned you up. you had little scratches but nothing more. And espio was cleaning the rookie's wounds. His were more severe then yours. He did fight infinite after all.

" That fake shadow was created using the phantom ruby's power, right? Even if it's a virtual reality projection it's as strong as the real shadow."

"Rouge have you found the intel i was looking for?"

" No, not yet, but i have reports that Eggman's database is located at the Chemical plant. If we can check that out we might find something there."

" That sounds like a promising lead. we have to figure out the secret behind Infinite's power and virtual reality. Tails can you handle this?"

" Got it, I'll take sonic ...i mean the other sonic...with me and head to the chemical plant." Tails took classic sonic and the went on their way.Once they were gone you all waited for Tails to get back or to be called for back up but until then relaxed. You just stared at everyone and you were so glad that you were all still together. you also saw the rookie talking to knuckles about something. Knuckles calls for a small meeting well more like discussion.

" It seems the rookie has some information about Infinite and i would like (y/n) to explain what she heard and what see saw as well." 

You sat up straight. You kind of felt you were in trouble for something. 

"The rookie tells me that a few hours ago Infinite called you "his queen and his love". Everyone stared at you and your skin color turned from (s/c) to bashful color. You could see Amy start to smile.

" Um.......what, i don't know why he calls me that?"

" It sounds to me as if he likes you or something." You look at sonic.

" *Gasp* think about it 'The enemy falls in love with her, and she falls in love with the enemy and they run away together, *sigh* romantic." You blush turns even darker. Your eyes move from Amy to the rookie and you glared at him.

"You are in so much trouble!" He then hides behind knuckles.

" Why would she fall in love with him,he's the enemy!" You look at Silver.

" Wait Silver Amy might be onto something, we could (y/n) against him as a decoy." You look back at knuckles.

" No way, I'm completely against this he's the enemy for crying out loud!"

You stand up " I don't think he is..." Everyone looked at you again.

"Something happened when rookie fought Infinite."

" As iv'e heard, he said that Infinite was talking in third person."

" Ya."

" So what if he was speaking in third person?!"

" I think he's being controlled!" You yelled in frustration.

" Just because he was spoke in third person makes you think he's being controlled?"

"It's not that he spoke in third person, it was the way he sounded like his voice changed,  he said ...well someone said  the Infinite didn't have a choice anymore. when i tried to convince him to stop this war he told me he couldn't but it sounded like he couldn't even if he wanted to. so he's forced to continue what he started. When he thought about it the phantom ruby started to hurt him."

" So let's say he was being controlled, but by who, Eggman?"

" No ... I think what's controlling him is the phantom ruby."

" How?" 

" I don't know...but i'm guessing the phantom ruby is it's own person but it can't do much without a host so that probably why it won't let him go... i don't know it could be a little far fetched."

Knuckles  put his hand against his chin and thought about it. You weren't sure he was gonna agree with you. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. 

" I didn't escape from Infinite!" You look at sonic, silver then the rookie.

" He took me to the death egg ...and put me in the same cell sonic was in..." Silver clenched his fist.

" He said it was the only place you guys couldn't get to that easily an that he wanted some time alone with me. We talked and I asked him to let me go,... and he did."

" He let you free?"

" Yes."

" So that's why I found your located in green?" You looked at Amy and nodded.

" He's not that bad of a person once you get to know him."

" Once the phantom ruby noticed that he was going to change or attempt to change his mind it had to started taking control, before we know it Infinite will only be a body that the phantom ruby uses,... Infinite will die." 

Everyone stood quiet thinking it over all except Amy, she always took your side.

" Alright we'll see if what your saying is true." You smiled and Amy jumped for joy. Shadow finally decided to say something from the corner he was in.

" And if your theory is wrong and he tries to hurt you, I'll kill him myself."

" I hope this won't get us all killed."

" I promise it won't." Charmy raised his hand. "Weren't we supposed to destroy the phantom ruby anyway?"

" Your right charmy."

" I'll do it, I'm the only one that can get close to him." you volunteered.

" Are you sure he isn't flirting with you because you're a human and he thinks you're gullible?" Amy hits sonic beside the head. 

" Oow I didn't mean it like that."

" No his flirting doesn't phase me, I don't even like him." You looked away blushing a slight bit.

" Hehe I saw that (y/n)!"

" Amy!"

" Phew so this is where the database is. Hold on a sec while I access the data from this computer... okay... failed battle plans... Old robot designs.... Wow he's got ten terabytes of selfies... so where does he keep the... Found it virtual reality weapon, The phantom ruby."

" A weapon that take control of people's visual and the depth perception feed false information for them...like a dream so real if you bump yourself in it, you sleeping self will feel bruise? that's hard to believe. Eggman experimented with lots of prototypes, and then incorporated the final version into Infinite.

" If i'm reading this data correctly then there might be a weakness. This is huge, let's get this information back to the others!"
