15. A bit too dramatic

Robin's POV
Ohh my god!! Oh my god!! Ohh my god!!! What the hell did I do?? I broke up. I broke up with Irene, the love of my life. Well, she did kind of cheat on you. Ohh man!!! Shut up!! My subconscious can never leave me alone. Of course, I can't....I am a part of you, remember?? I have to wake Jane up. This is not happening. Six years is not a small span of time. There has to be something twisted; Irene would never hurt me that bad.
"Jane!!! Jane!!! Wake up"
"Is it an earthquake??" Jane asked waking up. How can a person think of something that devastating waking up?
"No!! It is something more important than that"
"It better be ....cause it's Sunday today and I like to sleep through my holidays"
"Well, it is a matter of utmost importance. I love her.... I love her so much. I can not imagine my life without her."
"Who are you talking about??" Jane asked confused.
"Irene, of course. Who else would it be??"
"Yesterday you were all like I realised I don't love her and never did and today......ughh. Can't you make up your mind??"
"I saw her kissing someone else. Isn't it obvious that I would say stuff like that??"
"So how is today different?? Did you realise that it was someone else you saw and not Irene??" She said exasperatedly.
"Nooo!! It was definitely her but I realised something else."
"What??"
"That there might be some other reason for that. Maybe this is something like what happens in the movies. What if someone is threatening her??"
"Don't get your hopes too high Bin. But yeah... I agree. That might be the case. She isn't someone who would betray you" she said thinking deeply.
"Why didn't you say all of that yesterday?? I wasted one whole day and she would be so sad by now. I need to call her"
"What are you going to say?? I am sorry I am your supposed boyfriend who found you kissing someone else and I was hoping that there is a theory behind it. If so, would you like to continue our relationship??" She said in a heavier voice imitating me. She should have applied for a course in drama instead of art.
"I am not going to say that but yeah something along that line"
As soon as I dialled her number, a knock disturbed us. I hope it is Irene.
"Let me go and check," Jane said and left me alone with the phone in my hand and a super fast beating heart in my chest. Let's go.
Ring...ring...ring....pick up...pick up god damn it.
"Hello" came her faint voice.
"Hello"
"Robin???"
"Yeah"
"I thought you would never talk to me again. Would you give me a chance to explain??"
"Yes baby, of course. Just one thing before you do so. Do you love me??"
Silence filled the line on the other side. Does she not love me?? What is taking her so long??
"Irene??? You there??"
"Yeah.... I was just a bit taken aback by the question. I never thought that you would have to ask me this but I believe that it is necessary at the moment. I love you more than any human has loved any other"
"A bit too dramatic but yeah I believe you. Just don't break my heart ever again. Whatever it is....tell me, alright??"
"I wanna meet you in person and explain everything. It will take some time to do so"
"I planned on spending the weekend with you but as it is almost over, I will come by in the evening and we will spend the next two days together. I don't wish to see you kissing someone this time" I said sarcastically. A certain hope is building inside me.... hope that says ' Everything is gonna be fine. Don't worry'
"I will see you then and I am extremely sorry. Love you" she said, guilt resonating in her voice.
"Love you," I said and hung up.
I have to tell Jane. She loves me. She loves me. I have never been happier.
"Jane??"
"Yeah. Come over in the living room. Matt is here"
Ohh god!! Matt!! I don't think I can face him now. I behaved worse than a cannibal would yesterday.
"Hey!! I am a sorry man....my mind wasn't stable yesterday" I said keeping my hand on his shoulder and looking down at the floor.
"Chill dude. Jane explained all of it. If I were you, I would have been in a worse condition"
"How come you are here anyway??" I asked finally realising that there is no reason for him to come by and he is the kind of person who does not waste time visiting friends.
"Just visiting my friends"
"Yeah!! Like I would ever believe that. Tell me"
"To ask Jane out on a date," he said. He has got to be kidding me. Jane and date. He can dream all he wants. She would never go on a date with him.
"You know what?" I said.
"What?"
"She won't ever go out on a date with you"
"Bin!!! I kind of already said yes" Jane said interrupting us.
"What??"
