23. Rotting in hell

"What in the world do you think you are doing here?", I hissed.
"I heard she was living at this place and I was in the city so I wondered if we could catch up", he said trying to enter our apartment. I stopped him by keeping my hand in between him and the doorway. I closed the door behind myself and took him by the sleeve in the hall.
"I don't want any drama, okay? Be a good boy and leave"
He smirked. He has the audacity to do that after everything he has done. Finally, she had started becoming better......even after her father's death, she had controlled herself quite well but now he is here. The guy because of whom she cries herself to sleep. The person who broke her. And here he is all casual like always, asking to meet her.
"What will you do if I don't?"
The guy had a point. He has a good muscular build and I don't stand a chance against him in a duel. It's not like we are going to break each other's face out here, right?
"I will call the police and put a restraining order on you"
"Let's see if you will be able to do that before you are a mess of blood"
I know that his threats are never in vain. If he is saying he will hurt me, he will.
"What do you want from her Ethan? Please stay away, I beg you. She is not in the right state of mind right now"
"You are afraid that she will fall into my arms, aren't you? I knew you loved her and you love her still. Can't you be happy with that petty girlfriend of yours??"
"Not a word about Irene or it would be you who will go out of this building as a mess of blood. And yeah.... I love Jane but only as a friend. I care about her and I don't want her to get hurt repeating the same mistakes", I said. If I could I would have spat on him but I don't think that is a good idea in the present situation.
"Well well well..... I see you have grown a pair now!! Dude I am not here to fight. I just want to apologise. What I did was wrong and don't you think she deserves closure"
Should I let him in?? No Robin, he is only saying all of this stuff to get in and as soon as he gets the chance, he will turn back on his words. But the look in his eyes, it seems as if he has been in a lot of pain. Maybe he regrets what he did. No!! No!! No!! I can't let him in. Not under any condition. But everyone deserves a second chance, right?? He doesn't. What the hell is happening to me?? I am having a war with myself. Shut up!!! Just shut up!!
"She does deserve a closure, but not today. She is not in the state to deal with you. Can you come by sometime later?"I said rubbing the back of my neck.
"Why can't she talk now??", he asked rather seriously. Should I tell him?? No, I shouldn't. But if I don't, he won't leave. The faster I get the rid of him, the better.
"It's her father, he died"
"Shouldn't she be happy about that??"
Yeah well, she should be but she isn't. Not my fault, right?? Oh godd, just kill me. Rotting in hell would be better than dealing with this stubborn idiot.
"Who are you talking to, Bin", Jane said opening the door of our apartment. Fuck!!
