" I do say that in front of people but I have never really believed that I look good," Matt said after thinking for a whole good minute.
" Only to give rest to your doubts... yes you are handsome"
He rubbed the back of his neck and finally replied "Thank you milady!! I already said something about your beauty, I don't know how to carry the conversation forward"
"You are welcome, Milord and you can deviate from the topic. There is no need for you to stick to complimenting" I said chuckling. Even actors don't behave the way we are. The words we are using are way too out of the everyday life. It's as if we are in a whole new universe now.
"What is it that makes you laugh Miss___?"
"Miss. Donovan, the daughter of Count Palatine. It is indeed a great time to have a good laugh. That is the only reason for my amusement, Milord!!"
"Yess, Miss Donovan. Daughter of Count Palatine, huh? Impressive. Let me introduce myself as the future heir to the kingdom of Versasia", he said and started laughing. I joined him. It feels like I am laughing after an entire lifetime. This is genuine happiness. Never knew that a stranger could bring out such a side of mine.
"Versasia??? Is that even a place??" I said between my laughs.
"Yes, of course, it is. It is a magical place in my head"
" Yeah?? So what is this place like?" I said resting my chin on my hands.
"It is a place where there are no buildings. People live together under the shadow of trees, there is no honking of vehicles and just eternal peace."
"Don't you think that you cannot be the heir of such an incredible place?"
"The place exists in my mind, I can be whatever I like to be," he said grinning ear to ear.
"An heir to such an amazing place. I would like to marry someone like that"
"Then why don't you? I am available"
"I was joking.....you fool and I am really not the type of girl you would wanna date"
"How can you say that? You are not me. Maybe I want to date someone exactly like you"
"I am broken, Matt. No one can fix me. Bin has been trying to do that for a long time but hasn't been successful. He is even going to buy me a dog so that I have company" I said, a hint of doubt in my voice.
"Maybe he is not the person who can fix you. Maybe I am"
"My my!!! Such open flirting. I don't appreciate flirts for your information"
"Then we will have to change that habit of yours. Don't you think??" He said scratching his nose.
"Habits seldom change, heir of Versasia"
"But they do"
"Yeah"
"Why don't you just give me a chance??" He said rather hopefully. How do I tell him that the problem lies with me and that I am not ready for any kind of commitment?
"Cause only someone who has had enough struggles in his life can understand me"
"What makes you think I have led a very happy life??" He said. What he is saying is kind of true. Maybe he has gone through things which are far worse than what I have experienced.
"You know, you seem so happy"
"Well that's because I am past that phase but I am not someone who can not understand pain"
"I suppose you can understand pain"
"So Miss Jane Donovan, daughter of Count Palatine, will you go on a date with me?"
"You could be a killer!!"
"If I was, you would probably have been dead by now and I would be talking to your ghost"

"So??"
"Okay, Prince Matt____??"
"Prince Matthew Young, heir of Versasia"
"Yes yes!! Prince Matthew Young, heir of Versasia I accept your proposal"
"Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!" He said and punched high in the air. The happiness on his face made me happy and that is all I really want. To be happy!!!
