30. It's never an option

Matt came by the next day; not to apologise but to say that we should contact him when all of this was over.
As hell we would contact him. It's better for him to go anyway.
"Well we need to think about what we are gonna do next", I said.
" I am pretty sure I know that Bin but whatt?"
"Ummm....we need to convince Ethan that you are gonna get back together with him", Irene added.
" I guess then we all know what we need to do"
Jane picked up her phone, called Ethan and asked him to meet her at a cafe farthest from the hotel we were staying in. We sort of had to move out of the place which Ethan knew about.
We really need to get out of this situation very soon.
"He is gonna be there at 6", she said exhaling.
I saw her thinking, I knew she was by the way her brow creased.
"So okay. Here it is. We will go there and I will apologise for whatever I did wrong or if I hurt him and I will say that I forgive him but that I cannot stay with him since I am in love with someone else"
She is in love with someone else. She is in love with someone else man. Finally, she is over him.
"No Bin, I am not in love with someone else, I am just gonna say that, you idiot. And again, no you didn't speak, you were only thinking it"
How does she do that?
I mean really? Am I that predictable?
Well, that's not the main issue here right now, Robin. Could you please focus?
"Can we please focus here, both of you? Do you think it will work"
I don't actually. You see, Ethan wants you Jane and you are plain out gonna tell you him that you are more than over him.
"Jane I think you are looking at it the wrong way", Irene said.
"He wants you. And he is not gonna stop unless he has you. There is one more thing that I wanna say; it wasn't your fault, you know. You asked him to leave, that's it. You didn't ask him to beat you and Matt for thinking that is really wrong. For the first time in the course of our friendship, I wanna tell you, don't date that guy cause he thinks that physically hurting someone is alright and it really isn't. Never under any circumstances"
I had never seen her say anything in the matter of others ever, not even mine. It was a pretty big deal but seeing her say all that really cleared my vision.
For a minute there, even I had thought that we would not be in this mess if not for Jane. That is not true. We would have ended up here somehow cause Ethan would have shown his true nature then or maybe sometime later but it wouldn't have stayed hidden forever.
Jane hugged Irene and for the first time in many days, I saw true happiness on her face. She was happy because she had someone like Irene who could make her understand that blaming ourselves is easy but you need to know it's not always our fault; sometimes the other person is wrong too. And we can not make their choices for them and should not try justifying them by our actions. It was their decision to treat us the way they did and it's true; physically hurting someone is never an option. Not under any circumstances.
