I give each three men a weak smile and they nod. One of them checks the area and hops down, grabbing my knife and handing it to me. I put it back in my holster and continue sitting in the warm clothes and blankets that they have given me. "I'm Noah, the leader, that's Tyler, my right hand man, and that's Daniel, my guard. What's your name?" he asks too politely but I soon give in as I yawn. "Its S-Skye." I say growing tired. "Tyler, go get two pillows from yours and Daniel's piles. "On it." Tyler says and gets me two pillows from their beds. "No I'm fine. I want you guys to be comfortable." I say with a small smile. "No its okay. You are the guest. Why not let the lady have more of the comfort than the men?" he says with a smirk on his face, not the other hand there's me trying to hide my embarrassed expression. "Okay. Sure." I finally agree and as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm out like a light.
Its only a matter of time before were all dead.
I awoke from a strange dream I had. It was about how people would all be dead and how I was the only one left. Hmph..... Something sounds fishy..... Anyway, I look around me and notice that they are all asleep in their cozy sleeping bags. Noah is snoring like crazy, Tyler is laying on his stomach and mumbling things in his sleep, And Daniel is sound asleep. I laugh and stand, going over to the small backpack that I had brought with me and the clothes that they gave me and changed behind the balcony of the rooftop. I put on a dark green tanktop with dark blue jeans and long combat boots with my hair down. I had long red hair, so the green complimented that and my beautiful lime colored eyes. I grabbed a cup of water and washed the blood off of my face and neck, taking off any dirt along with it. At least I looked better than I did before. I grabbed my pistol and went down the ladder to go patrol, and saw that most of the trees outside have fallen over a little bit and a lot of the walkers were dead. I sighed in relief and nearly had a heart attack when Daniel had called down to me. "Awake Miss Skye? For how long?" he asks with a hint of confusion in his voice. "I've been up for a while now. How about you?" I ask looking up at the brown haired, green eyed man. "Only for a few minutes." he says which makes me feel a wave of relief knowing that he hadn't watched me the whole time. I sit on the ground in front of the barn doors and play with my knife until I hear the shuffling of the other two awakening. I smile and look up at the three, yanking my knife up into my grip when I see that they all have guns pointed at me. Or so I though. "SKYE MOVE! GET OUT OF THERE!" Noah yells but I turn on my heel and run towards the ladder, in attempt to make it in time, but slip and fall in the process. I curse myself out before I angrily and eagerly lift myself off of the ground and back to the ladder. I go to climb the ladder but a horde busts in. Me, being determined to stay alive, climbed that ladder as fast as I ever thought that I could. A hand reaches down and pulls me to safety, just like last time. But its different because next thing I know warm arms wrap around me and they all sigh in relief at the sight in front of them. I turn on my heel after Noah lets go of me and look down the ladder to see that the walkers started climbing it. I snatched Noah's gun and started shooting them one by one, until I heard a click, and realized that my gun ran out of bullets. I angrily stomp over to my bag and clench it in my fingers, making my knuckles turn white. I throw the bag over my shoulders hurridley, and rush the others to get their stuff until I hear a bloody scream from behind me. I spin around and witness something that saddens me and makes my heart sink to my toes. Daniel was being torn apart right in front of me. Tears welt in my eyelids but I stay strong and usher the other two out of the barn. I was very good at parkour, considering that I spent a lot of my time training and in the forest. I hop down to the grass and help Noah and Tyler down, slowing our process of getting away. Walkers find their way to to where we are standing and grab Tyler from my hands, chewing him right in front of me and Noah. Noah stares in disbelief and in a shocked state so I have to grab his hand and drag him behind me. Soon he regains some sense of what's happening after I smack his face, and he focuses on getting us out. I grab my knife in my right hand while me left is holding his and jog across the field heading over to the asphalt that was waiting for us. Panting and dehydrated, we finally make it to the road. Noah has lost all color in his face, making it pale and his blue eyes lighter. His lips were cracked and a very very light shade of pink, same as his cheeks. Me on the other hand, my skin wasnt pale and my green eyes weren't light but I was dehydrated and sore like Noah was because I was used to running for long periods of time. We stopped for a break under a willow tree that looked worn out. I give Noah a bottle of water, which he chugs down instantly making me regret not giving it to him sooner. "Its okay..... Now they're in a better place." I say softly trying to comfort him. "I guess you're right." I heard a sniffle so I came and sat down next to him, placing his pale hands in mine and pouring water on them, and then wrapping them in a towel to try and give him some sort of relief of what he has seen all in one day. I help him to his feet and we continue walking down the road, killing a few walkers here and there. We finally find a small complex and I have him wait outside while I search one house, finding no walkers in one of the houses we want, so I bring him into one of the bedrooms and give him a bit of rest. I go and sit on the couch in the living room, wondering if there was any food. I go and look in the cupboards for anything and find moldy bread and bad cheese. I cringe and look inside of the fridge, finding an uncooked steak that still looked edible, so I take it out and carve it and examine it, to make sure that nothing was wrong with it. After doing that I start a fire in the small yard of the house and cook the steak over a fire. An energized Noah comes out after about two hours or so it seemed. "Hey you hungry kid?" I ask in a slightly tired tone, and take the now cooked steak off of the stick. I place it on a plate and split it in half, handing one over to Noah and allowing him to eat. "Good. Looks like you could really use some sleep Skye." he says with a reassuring smile. So that's what i did. I ate and then changed into a quick pair of pajamas that I could find and fell asleep on the bed inside of what I'm assuming to be the parents room. I wake up around sunset and change back into my jeans and combat boots, grabbing a new shirt from the closet since my other one was torn up.
(My outfit but without the flannel)
I peak my head out of the door for Noah and see nobody present. I silently walk my way out of the room and immediately check outside, because that's were I thought he would be last. As soon as I enter the front yard I stumble back and try to catch my breath. I start to feel dizzy, as I watch a group of maybe 3 or 4 walkers tearing into Noah. I run back inside and snatch up my bag with my right hand, while occupying my left with my knife. I jog to the door and open it, having to swing a couple times at the incoming walkers. I finally make it away from the house and into a woodsy area, having a bit of rest there instead of running any longer. I pick out some dried pears that I found inside of the cabinets and ate them, grabbing my water bottle and taking a couple sips and then putting it back into my bag. I pull myself up willingly and continue to move at the pace that I was before. Suddenly I stumble off of a hill and roll to the bottom. In the process, somehow my knife got lose and jabbed my side, going deeper everytime I rolled on it. I screeched out in pain, and my hand flew to my now bloody side. I looked down in displeasure and slowly pull the knife out. I scream everytime I touch it but bite the black jacket surrounding my shoulders. After I successfully pull the knife out i hear a groan and painfully force myself to my feet. I take my blood soaked knife in my right hand and swing my bag over my shoulders, hoping that nobody heard me. I limp and try to walk at the same time, losing quite a bit of blood. I wince every now and then, and suddenly find a small town, wobbling and losing consciousness. I wonder into one of the houses and struggle to get upstairs, falling onto the soft comforter and falling asleep. I wake up with a bandage around my stomach and fly up, moaning in pain and instantly putting my hand to my side. I hear a deep soft voice by the side of the bed so I look over and squint to see who it was since my vision was blurry because of the blood loss. "Morning sunshine." he says with a warm smile, making me shudder inside. "U-uh.... Who are you?" I ask tilting my head like a lost puppy and rubbing my temples after. "My name is....." he trailed off, thinking of something. "Sorry. Sometimes forget what's going on." he says rubbing his neck and looked at me, and I spin one finger sideways to tell him to continue. "My name is Adrian. And yours?" he asks politely, but with a pointed look, expecting an answer. "Its Skye...." I say nodding at him and going to get up until he interrupts me. "You shouldn't be moving around like that Skye." he says with a voice thick with concern. I turn on my heel and glared at him, like he just did something terrible. "I don't need your help and pity guilt." I say harshly, and grab my bag and weapons, heading out of the door. Im grabbed by the wrist and I go to say something until it groans and I instantly spin and kill it with a flick of the knife. I watch it fall to the ground satisfied, and continue walking out until I hear screams of distress, so I sigh heavily and walk back into the house to see that Adrian is being eaten alive. "What the hell?!" I yell and run back into the open, glancing behind me to make sure that walkers weren't on my tail. "Why does everybody I meet die." I say angrily and sit up against a tree Checking my gun and knife to make sure that they were in good use still.
