The car's vibrations were quickly making me sleepy, to a point where I had to pinch myself to stay awake. The only reason I wanted to stay awake, is because I was on watch duty. I know, it sounds stupid since we're in a car, but someone had to make sure no one was following us. I would look around every few minutes, just to make sure we were safe. Then I'd lay my head on the soft material behind me, and close my eyes. Repeat. At one point as I was looking around, my eyes caught light flickering in the forest around us. At first, I though my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I pointed it out and Daryl noticed it too. Glenn was the one driving, so he couldn't really see, but when he glanced his eyes over to the scene, he said that he saw the same thing. "Whelp. I hope Rick sees it." I comment. "Yeah. He'll know what to do about that." Glenn says, following up what I was saying. The soft glow of the lights disappear as we enter a more shadier area of forest. The trees that overhang our car makes it dark, causing both parties to turn on the brights in the car. My mind wanders to what could happen with this community. Great things, I suppose. And to add, I really, really like the King and his Tiger, Shiva. Not to mention he keeps the place so clean and well organized it's impossible to not feel safe inside of those gates. I should probably go back there sometime soon. My leg starts to bounce, and the hairs on my arm start to stand up, causing me to look around, again. I spot a horde of walkers on our trail, and almost have a heart attack. "Daryl..." I say cautiously, directing him to what I wanted him to see with my eyes. He groans, looks away, and turns back around in his seat. "Oh well they won't follow us back to the community, that's for damn sure." I tilt my head in confusion, because that's exactly what will happen. "If we don't take care of the problem-" I get cut off by a pissed off and annoyed Daryl. "Just shut up! Nothing is gonna happen. Just stop having your panties in a twist!" I look at himu laughing. Which only pisses him off more, might I add. He sits there in silence, as do I. Glenn speaks up after listening to us argue and stay silent for a few minutes, and says something that makes sense. "We're all just tired and stressed, alright guys? So both of you, knock it off." Glenn says, seriously glancing at me and Daryl. I scooch behind Daryl and wrap my arms around him from the back of his seat, causing him to jump a little. "Love you D." I say quietly. I hug tighter, and he starts to chuckle. "Love you too, Skye." Daryl replies lovingly. "See? That wasn't hard was it." Glenn smiles at me, then looks back at the road.
It had been about two hours before we made it back to Alexandria, due to some difficulties and a couple stops we made. I saw Rick park and get out of the car, turning behind him to look at us in the car, patiently waiting to be let in. I watch as Rick waves his arm to Eugene who is sitting on the top of the gates, signaling to someone below who is pulling the gates open now, Maggie. I watch as Glenn's face lights up at the sight of his beautiful wife, and I smile in content. Rick climbs back into his car, waits for the gates to be all the way open, and drives in. We follow suite, driving the same path that Rick took to park the cars. Each one of us gets out, but I stay in the car for a few more minutes, enjoying the empty sound and feeling. My heartbeat is loud in my ear, but I close my eyes and lean my head back. This is the only real time of peace I have before I have to go back to the hell I call life. I open my eyes to the sudden knock on the window, and look up to see Rick smiling in at me. I sigh, open the door, and take his hand as he helps me out of the car. "Thank you." I say. "You okay? You didn't look exactly the best." Rick has my hand in his, looking into my eyes intently. "I don't really know. I'm fine I think." I reply to him. He kisses my forehead, gives me a hug, and walks off replying to me with, "I know you are." My lips stretch into a big, goofy smile, and I look down at my feet. When I hear a, "Mommy?", that's when I snap my head up to meet Dallas who is being walked over by Michonne. I rush to him, scoop him up, and hug him tightly. "I missed you, baby." I say sweetly. I pepper his face with kisses, and he giggles. "Cute." I hear a voice say. I look up to see Aiden, and I wrap my one free arm around his neck. "Glad you're back." He smiles. Those freckles......I shake my head to get the thoughts of him out, and nod in agreement. I bounce Dallas on my hip and look around, taking a big breath. "I'm glad I'm home." Michonne looks at me lovingly, and smiles. Her chocolate skin and dark hair really do bring out her smile. Rick had mentioned it before. I love them together. Anyway, I slowly start to make my way back to my house, where my comfortable bed--Which isn't a car seat or a tent floor--is, waiting for me to just lay down and never get up. But I have to. "Hey, Hey. Wait up there, Princess." Aiden calls out to me. It wasn't until then that I realized I had been speed walking to my house, carrying Dallas, of course. "Oh shit- sorry." I chuckled nervously. "I'm just rushing to get to the shower, and my big comfortable bed." I laugh, bringing a smile to Aiden's lips. "It's only been about....What? Two days?" Aiden scratches his head and glamces at me, smirking when he sees me smiling at him. "I'm going to go put Dallas downstairs, Carol is coming over to watch him." I grab Aiden's forearm, and say, "We met some really nice people. There is nothing to be worried about." I smile reassuringly, and I catch Aiden staring at my lips. I shake away the thoughts in my head and continue my way down each step. "Looking like a Queen, Skylar." Aiden calls after me. I blush slightly at his words, more complexed by the way he says my name. He says it like it's the most beautiful thing he's heard in a while. "Sure thing, Aid." I call back, laughing at the jokes that could've just caused. I hear footsteps walk away, then a door shutting slowly.  Once I'm at the bottom of the stairs, I pull Dallas on my lap when I'm seated on the couch. "Mommy loves you." I bounced him on my knee, ticking him every now and then. "He may not be yours, but you sure as hell look like he is." Carol smiles as she walks through the door. "Thanks for watching him, Care." I loved the nickname, considering it fit Carol so well. "No problem. Yell if you need me." I nod, and walk back upstairs to the bathroom. The door was closed, and the shower was running. Damn it, Aiden. Beat me to it. I laugh out loud, slightly pissed off that I didn't get the shower first, but you know what, it's cool. "Real Gentlemen don't do that to the woman that is letting them stay in her house, Aiden." I accuse, chuckling. I had to yell a bit because at first he didn't hear me. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." I couldn't stand not taling a shower right now, and I don't know how long he's gonna be. So I climbed back down the steps, and walked past Carol who gave me a confused look. "I thought you were showering here?" I chuckled, somewhat annoyed. "Bastard got there before me." I said, throwing my thumb behind me gesturing to Aiden. "Whateva. I'll be back." I tell Carol. I throw open my front door, walk out of it, go down the steps and off to Rick's house. He shouldn't mind, should he? My pace quickens, I needed to get to a bed as soon as possible. I rubbed my temples as I stood at Rick's door, waiting for him to respond to the three knock pattern I had made. "What can I do for ya?" Rick asks, his raspy voice somehow giving me an even worse headache. "Can I use the shower? Mine is occupied. And my house just happens to not have another shower." I explain. Rick nods, and steps asids to let me in. I jog up the stairs and around the corner of the railing on the stairway, and to the bathroom. Michonne is in there, brushing her already pearly white teeth. "Hey. Something wrong?" Michonne asks. "No Mich. I just have to use the shower if that's okay. Mine is taken, unfortunately." She nods and spits out the mouth wash, rinsing her mouth and swishing, then spitting out again. She looks at me kindly before walking out of the bathroom and shutting the door behind her. My clothes come off in a hurry, and I gladly step into the nice, hot water that was running inside of the glass compartment. I pushed my head under the fauset, and stayed there for a minute or two. "I'm so tired." I say to myself, and not only three seconds later do I yawn. I wasn't watching where I was going and a razor dropped on the shower floor that I hadn't seen, and I stepped on it. Cutting my foot, pretty badly if you asked me. I didn't seem to notice the stinging, but only when I saw the dark red blood that was going down the drain. "Shit-" I yelp. I grab my foot and turn it around, examining the cut right on the arch of my foot. "Mmmm....That sucks." The feeling of the water going inside of the wound made me shudder and feel uncomfortable, but I ignored it and continued washing my hair, keeping my foot away from the soap. As I got done cleaning my body and my hair, I shut off the water. As I got out, the blood started to drop into the floor. I quickly grabbed a towel that was hung on the metal bar on the wall, and threw it around me in panic. "Michonne!" I yell. I stand away from the door after unlocking it, making sure that U wasn't hit just in case she slammed the door open. Which is exactly what happened. "Are you- Oh my..." She looked at the blood, and then at my foot. "How did this happen, she walks closer, not phased by the red substance on the floor. "I stepped on a razor blade...." I say, kind of embarrassed. "Hey," she says as she makes me look at her, "I'll help you wrap this. You're gonna be okay. It's not a great big huge cut." She says. I nod, and sit down in the toilet seat. I lift my foot up to Michonne, and she gently grabs it. I hold on to the towel, keeping myself decent. She had a bottle of aspirin and peroxide next to her, accompanied by bandages and a nice wrap. "Thank you Michonne. Really, Thanks." She nods, glances up at me, and then looks back down at my bloody foot. Rick came rushing upstairs, seeing what was going on. Michonne poured the peroxide on my foot, and I bit onto the towel in pain, feeling the bubbling coursing through the wound. I twitched my foot, causing Michonne to spill even more on there, causing another yelp to escape my lips. "Damn it!" I gasp. Rick chuckles, watching as I'm getting all riled up over a stupid cut. "Thanks for laughing. It's really funny." I say, sarcastically at most. "Sorry. Just funny that you're making this much noise, over that." Rick pointed to the wound on my foot, and grinned. "This hurts to me." I say. "He kinda is right...You've been through a lot worse, Honey." Michonne laughed gently. "I guess." I sighed as she finished up wrapping my foot. Michonne stared at her work, impressed with herself, and stood up. "Probably not safe to keep the razors in vulnerable places like that, Rick." I laugh. I stand, completely forgetting that I was only covered in a towel. "Uhm....I'll go now." Rick said, leaving the room and back downstairs. "Put light pressure on your foot, Honey." Michonne says. She leaves the room and shuts the door, allowing me to change into the fresh clothes I brang. Some gray sweatpants, a tight white tank top, and some nice fuzzy socks. I pull my boots on and throw my hair in a ponytail, getting ready to go back to my house. I leave the steamy bathroom and out into the cold house, causing goosebumps to arise on my skin. I climb down the stairs, and pass the happy family sitting on the couch. "Thanks for the water. Bye" I wave and leave the house. As I shut the door, I notice something weird moving in the shadows. I didn't have a weapon with me so I wanted to take a few precautions. My feet made no audible sound as I walked closer to the scene. Yes, my foot hurt like hell, but I needed to see what was happening. I hid behind a house corner, watching as the figure stumbled across the roadway. I squint my eyes tiredly, and try to see what it was through the dark. I heard the groans coming from the figure, and I instantly knew what it was. A walker. I looked around me, biting my lip, looking for something to kill it with. I found a pip laying next to the house edge, and I picked it up. It was heavy, but I managed. I whistled, grabbing it's attention and allowing it to get close before I threw myself at it, tackling it to the ground. Slowly, lights started coming out around me, and a few doors opened to hear the struggling going on. I lifted the pipe, hardly, and brang it down on the walkers face. Over and over again, until it was dead. I think I did an overkill, because Rick is behind me, arms lifting me up and away from the corpse. My clothes were splattered with blood, along with my neck and face. I sighed in anger, and pulled quickly away from Rick. "I'm fine. Don't ask. But if I were you, I'd go check that gate." I said, dropping the pipe and causing a loud 'Bang' sound to erupt. "I'm tired and annoyed. I'll see you, Ricky." I comment, and make my way back to my house. As I walk in, I notice Carol has left and Aiden is sitting at the dining table, reading a book. "Hey." He says. "Hi." I reply back. "The hell happened to you?" He comments, looking me up and down. "A lot of things. I had to kill a walker that had somehow gotten in. I'm having Rick go and investigate." I explain. "Anyway, I'm gonna go clean up and go to bed. Night." I say and give him a hug before walking up the stairs and to the bathroom. I grab a rag from under the sink, and soak it with water. As I'm cleaning off the blood from my face and body, I peel off my tanktop and leave it in the bathroom hamper. I finish cleaning up and walk to my bedroom, checking on Dallas before closing my door. I take the clothes off from when I killed the Walker, and place them in the small pile by my closet. I'm gonna have to ask Carol to help me with laundry tomorrow. Anyway, I climb into bed after taking my shoes off and go to sleep in only my undergarments, due to the extreme fatigue and sleepiness I feel. I pull the covers over me and slowly but quickly fall into a deep slumber.
