After Alec ran from Amara he bumped into Jace and the others while they stood watching Raphael hold Simon hostage by his neck. "Put your weapons down." they didn't move, "Don't give me a reason to snap his neck." within second they were dropping their weapons on the ground. "follow me." They walked behind Raphael until they arrived at another door. "Leave."
"not without Simon."Clary snapped back but jace coerced her to leave along with Alec, Izzy and Allison. Jace was the last person out with Simon in front of him. Clary was quick to run toward the two taking Simon in her arms hugging him with all her strength while Jace walked toward the other three.
"Where is Amara?" he asked, they all looked away. "Where is she Alec?"
There was a pause where no one spoke the three looked to one another then it was Alec you spoke "She stayed behind."
"WHAT?!" Jace yelled "ALEC"
"She told us to go." Alec attempted to reason. "we were losing and she was the only person who had her weapons. We didn't have a choice."
Jace was up in Alec's face "we always have a choice." Jace spit out "You took the easy way out. You RAN like a coward."
Izzy interrupted "Jace!" making Jace look to her.
"what? Izzy." he paused "you did the exact same thing." Jace looked to Izzy and Alec. "we promised Magnus that we'd protect her ." he lifted his shirt showing a certain rune that all four -Izzy, Alec Amara and Jace- had that connected them to one another. "And now because I thought even though you guys hate her-for no fucking reason-you'd still protect her." Clary came up to the group
"Jace calm down." He didn't reply but he did go back inside to look for his best friend. And they let him.
"where is she?" he yelled to the cold, dead vampire.
Raphael smiled.
