The first day of classes marked the fourth year of this routine. For some, this would be the last first day. For others, it was the first of many first days.

Estella was in the Ravenclaw dormitory unpacking her things before dinner. Underneath a knitted sweater lied the book that Remus Lupin had given her months before. She picked it up and flipped through the pages, thinking about some of the stories she had yet to read and try to remember. She recalled that Remus had said that he would visit her and her mother during the summer, but he never came around. Estella understood though. The life of a werewolf was not always easy. Grabbing a quill and paper, Estella went to write Lupin a letter.

"Dear Remus,
I hope that you well and safe. I don't write to you out of offense. I don't write to know why either. This summer has been busy and quite hectic for us too. I write to you to see how you are. Defense Against the Dark Arts hasn't started yet, but I already know that everyone wishes you were still teaching the class. By the looks of the new teacher, he seems to fit the job a little too well. It's wrong to judge by looks though. Either way, I hope to hear from you soon and if you are well enough for it, please visit my frantic mother. A familiar face would help put her heart at ease.
Sincerely,
Estella"

After sealing the letter, she headed out the door to send the letter off with an owl. Upon arriving to the great hall, Estella heard one particular voice with silence from others surrounding it. The voice, of course, belonged to Draco Malfoy.

"So tell me, is his mother really that porky, or is it just the picture?" Draco said to Harry Potter.

"You know your mother, Malfoy? That expression she's got, like she's got dung under her nose? Has she always looked like that, or was it just because you were with her?" Harry fired back.

"Don't you dare insult my mother, Potter."

"Keep your fat mouth shut, then," Harry replied while turning to walk away.

Estella watched as Draco quickly pulled his wand out and shot a spell at Harry. The loud bang caught everyone's attention as it passed by Harry's face.

"OH NO YOU DON'T, LADDIE!" Professor Moody shouted, followed by another loud bang.

Everyone's attention then turned to a floating white ferret where Draco had once stood. Shock and some laughter broke out through the room. Estella's mouth hung wide open. Her laughter could not be hid by her hand that was covering her mouth. She watched as the professor bounced him up and down. A few seconds later, Professor McGonagall walked in.

"What - what are you doing?" She asked as she looked at the ferret.

"Teaching." Professor Moody answered.

"Teach - Moody, is that a student?" She cried.

"Yep." Moody replied.

"No! Moody, we never use Transfiguration as a punishment! Surely Professor Dumbledore told you that?"

"He might've mentioned it, yeah."

"Turn him back at once!"

With a snap of a wand, Draco was back stumbling on his feet. Estella watched as he was being escorted out of the hall. When he walked by her, he met her eyes and saw the hand hiding her evident smile. Estella shook her head and turned away in hopes of hiding the laughter that had tried to break through once again.

After everyone calmed down and was back to eating, Estella made her way to the Ravenclaw table.

"Now that's what I call a show," Padma said while Estella sat down across from her.

"I like ferrets. They're kind creatures," Luna added.

"Well I think we all know that Draco is the least kind creature to walk the planet," Padma stated.

"Seriously, Padma?" Estella said.

"Oh go ahead and defend him, but you didn't hear the cruel things he was saying to Ron and Harry," Padma replied.

"I heard some and I'm not defending him for it. It was wrong of him and he got what he deserved," Said Estella.

"Well you're right on one thing, he certainly deserved that," Padma stated.

After dinner, Estella was walking back to her dormitory when she ran into Draco along the way.

"I must say, bravo and thank you for this evening's entertainment," Estella said with a light clap.

"I can't believe you saw that," Draco said with a face palm.

"You deserved it," Estella stated.

"I did not. What if I never turned back into a human?"

"That's the point of magic."

"Well obviously."

"Then why are you being so dramatic? I'm sure a ferret's life isn't that bad."

Draco rolled his eyes then said, "I still didn't deserve that."

"I heard a part of your argument with Harry. What you said was completely out of line," Estella replied.

"He shot back at me the same way. Why aren't you lecturing him about this?"

"Because Harry Potter isn't my friend!"

"I'm your friend?"

"What? I mean, yeah, uh, I'm sure that I've called you my friend before."

"Yeah but I thought we were becoming more than that."

"Woah, wait a second. What gave you that idea?"

"Oh I don't know, flirting with you, saving your life, hugging each other, all of the blushing...shall I go on?"

"I think you're taking some things out of proportion."

"Is your heart set on another? Is that it?"

"What? No I-"

"I'll fight him."

"With what? Mother insults?"

"Ouch," Draco said jokingly with a hand over his heart.

Estella smiled and looked into the boy's grey eyes. He has always had such beautiful eyes. Estella didn't think much about being more than friends until now. He was not wrong about all of the gestures made throughout those months.

"I'm thinking about holding out for one of the Durmstrang boys once they come," Estella finally said teasingly.

"What could they do for you that I couldn't?" Draco asked.

"Well for starters, they could give me a headache free life."

Draco rolled his eyes.

"Maybe help me with homework," Estella continued, "but I don't know. What would you do for me?"

"I will rearrange the stars, pull them down to where you are. I promise, I'll do better."
