I sat at the edge of bench and look out on to the park

I sat at the edge of bench and look out on to the park. " When is he coming?" I asked myself. I closed my eyes and sighed. I have been here for a hour because, he didn't tell me when to meet him here. I look out to the field and see two little kids playing ball, I smile. I don't remember when I use to be that little. At least not that happy, when I was little.

I stare out to the sky as I see the sun slowly setting from the east mountains. The stars slowly appear from the night time sky. It was magnificent, I could name most of them; Scorpius, Orion, Hercules, and wait. I saw a new constellation, that I never seen before. It looked like a hunter, no a huntress. I think I will call her Zoe.

I look around the park and see most of the people already went home. I decided that it was getting late, I got out of my seat and was ready to head back home. I pickup my bag and got up. I was ready to head back, I heard a pair of footsteps stomping behind me. I turn around. To be stopped by a pair of steady hands across my eyes.

"Who are you?!" I call out to the stranger behind me.

"Annabeth, don't you recognize me?" I smile, it was Percy.

"Of course, I don't- seaweed brain." I grin ear to ear.

" Well, I should have known you would be such wise girl"

"Percy, what did you want me to be here for?" I question him

"I have a surprise for you" He led me away from the park with his hands still over my eyes. Ten steps right, forward 20 steps- I better remember. Just in case he decided to leave me stranded in an alleyway.

"Percy, where are we going?" I ask him

"You'll have to find out yourself." What a kelp head. I guess he wants to leave me in the dark.

"Were here!" He whispered. He let go of me. I open my eyes and the darkness around me slowly engulfs me. I wait for my eyes to adjust to the sudden darkness. I could slightly make out the surroundings. A wall, dirt, an old lantern, stuff that I can see anywhere, it doesn't tell me anything of where I am. I kick a rock as it skids across the hard cobble floor.

It hit me. Were is Percy, that up to no good Perseus Jackson! He was with me when he led me here unless I was wrong, was it not Percy? I look around the alley as I see a flicker of a match lit in the end. I storm down to the place where the flicker came from.

I see Percy sitting on the edge of a water fountain with a lantern in his hand.

"I see you found me, Annabeth" He smiles at me. This was it, I had enough of this nonsense!

"Your Highness, I don't get why you brought me here, just to toy with me!" I yell at him angrily. He puts on a scared face and walks behind the fountain taking another lantern out, a lantern in each of his hands. One for me and one for him, I think.

"Here, this is for you make a wish," He tells me gently. I frown, what is wrong with him. I yell at him, he pretends that I never said anything. He ditches me in a dark place, and just pretends that we are on a date?!

I reach out my hand, interested in what will happen next. He hands me a lantern, a match, pen, and a piece of paper.

"Look watch me," He places a piece of paper in the lantern, I could make out a word "Forever". I wonder what he wants forever. "Now your turn."

I take the pen and write on the piece of paper: I wish for a brighter future. I drop the paper in the lantern and I lit the match. As soon as the fire becomes in contact with the lantern the piece of paper burned into ashes. Percy walks over putting his hands over mine.

"Now you let it go." We lift my lantern into the nighttime sky, letting go at the same time. "Now, you have a wish, reach for the sky to achieve it."

I smile, I guess that I will have to reach the sky to achieve it. I just had one question. "Percy? What was your wish."

He looked down at me with hope in his eyes. "My wish was, that I could remember you forever. Not as a pauper I met one random day, or blonde hair and grey eyes. I wished that I could remember you as what you truly are inside. Forever."
